Red Bull eSports shares on-the-spot interviews with Evo players in new “Player Select” series

Red Bull eSports presence at Evo is shocking to no one: they do, after all, sponsor FGC titans in the form of Darryl ‘Snake Eyez’ Lewis and William “Leffen” Hjelte. Their latest video series, however, isn’t about them. It’s about the average player on the floor, their experience, and their shared excitement over Evo.

Featured above are interviews with Joe “LI Joe” Ciaramelli, Brian “Brian_F” Foster, Tempo Storm’s Alex Myers, Samantha “Persia” Hancock, Saliou “Saliou” M’Boup, Christian “TeamKhris” Bauman, and Echo Fox owner Rick Fox. They all represent different levels of play, games, expertise, different purposes for being there. Their passion for this community and genre, however, are the same.

Windjammers flies onto PS4 and PS Vita on August 29th

Following its brief online beta back in June, DotEmu and PlayStation have announced that the remastered version of Windjammers will be launching August 29th on PS4 and PS Vita. DotEmu have worked tirelessly to make this port as close to the arcade version as possible, and even drafted in members of the French Windjammers community to ensure it plays as it should.

According to DotEmu, the online beta helped improve the port’s menus and matchmaking system, with the developer choosing to go with GGPO for the full release. Members of the SRK team played through the beta and while the core game was the Windjammers you know and love, it was let down by its connection issues and dodgy menus. By the sounds of it, these problems will be fully rectified by the August release.

DotEmu are planning to go full esports with this port of Windjammers, promising updates and improvements following the initial launch. They are also partnering with Fangamer to produce Windjammers merchandise, including licensed Frisbees and hats.

Terry Flanagan pulls out of title defence against Felix Verdejo due to leg injury

WBO lightweight champion Terry Flanagan (33-0, 13 KOs) has pulled out of his title defence against mandatory challenger Felix Verdejo (23-0, 15 KOs) on September 16 at the Copper Box Arena in London, after suffering a leg injury in training.
Flanagan’s promoter Frank Warren informed Top Rank on Monday that the fight will need to be pushed back due to the injury.
A new date for Flanagan-Verdejo has not yet been discussed by Warren and Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, who promotes Verdejo.
