Overwatch – Deathmatch in Two Flavors Coming Soon in Arcade Mode

The Overwatch team has revealed a new game mode coming to the Arcade. Players will be able to play both Team Deathmatch and Free-For-All Deathmatch. In the first, one team tries to take out the other to the last player. In the latter, it’s every player for him- or herself. Deathmatch mode maps will be modified versions of existing maps, though Blizzard is also introducing a new map that takes place in the former home of Widowmaker.

Senko no Ronde 2 demo now out on the PlayStation Store in Japan

Shoot ’em-up slash fighting game hybrid Senko no Ronde 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC later this year. For those interested in trying out this unique fusion of both genres right now, a demo for the game is now available for download on PlayStation 4 in Japan.

The demo for Senko no Ronde 2 features four playable characters: Lev LeFanu, Beak Chang Po, Fabian the Fastman, and Mia Mikli. Players can try these characters out in Arcade Mode, Offline Battles, and Training Mode.

Those interested can download the 317MB demo over at the Japanese PlayStation Store (provided they have an account). Meanwhile, the full game will launch on PlayStation 4 and PC on September 7.

GRAPHT signs Leah “Gllty” Hayes as their first international Street Fighter player

Hoping to expand their talent pool outside of Japan, esports organization Team GRAPHT have just announced that Leah “Gllty” Hayes will be joining as their first international Street Fighter player.

Known for her elusive and sometimes disrespectful Dhalsim play, Gllty is certainly no stranger to the South East Asian Street Fighter scene, competing at last year’s South East Asia Major as well as Japan Cup and Tokyo Games Show. Paired with her performance at ELEAGUE’s Street Fighter V Invitational, she’s certainly made a big impression on the Japanese community.

She joins players like Fuudo, Haitani, Yukadon, MOV, Go1 and Dogura as part of GRAPHT’s fighting game division. With Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite also on the horizon, you may see Gllty tearing up bracket with fellow teammate Takumi. Definitely keep an eye out for her black and yellow Dhalsim at SEAM 2017 in October.

X-Kira presents evidence of an in-development Taito arcade build of Street Fighter V

Perhaps Street Fighter V‘s biggest break from series tradition is the lack of a proper arcade release. While this has helped the West stay competitive in the game, there are more than a few traditionalists who’ve mourned this loss.

That said, it seems that Street Fighter V may still be getting a proper arcade release after all. Dataminer X-Kira has found what seems to be evidence of a “Taito arcade version” of Street Fighter V in the game’s code. The data points to it being worked on in cooperation with Taito and Namco, likely for the former’s Type X3 board, and possibly with their NESiCAxLive online service.

Of course, this is all just speculation at this point, albeit done with actual evidence in the game’s code. We’ll likely learn more about this in the future, either at TGS in September or at the JAEPO next year.

The build itself is in an early alpha state, with only an empty select screen showing when the code is run, as you can see in X-Kira’s video below.
