Looking for some retro fighters? Sega Lord X breaks down the best and worst fighting games of the Sega CD

The Sega CD (or Mega CD for our non-American readers) was one of the first CD-based systems on the market, beaten to the punch by only the TurboGrafx CD and the Phillips CD-i. With the technology in its infancy, most developers didn’t quite know what to do with the format, and decided to just port some of their popular games over — with a mixed bag of results.

Thus, it’s only natural that a few fighters found their way onto the platform, both old and new. Sega Lord X took it upon himself to catalog all the fighters on the system that he could find, and showcase the best and the worst. With bad fighters like Brutal Paws of Fury making the list, he does note a couple of standouts in the port of Mortal Kombat, as well as the sequel to Eternal Champions for the Sega Genesis. This video is definitely worth the watch if you’re a collector looking to expand your fighting game library — or just want a history lesson in the genre.

Injustice 2 GameStop Hometown Heroes Finals results

Last night, after ten weeks of grueling competition, eight of America’s best Injustice 2 players, representing various regions across the country, were flown to the fight capital of the world, Las Vegas, Nevada, during the GameStop 2017 Expo, to compete for the lion’s share of $5,000 in prize money. In addition, two guaranteed spots in the Injustice 2 ELEAGUE bracket in October, as well as the title of GameStop Hometown Heroes Champion, were also up for grabs. The eight competitors and their regions were as follows:

  • Chicago – ANBU_GetReked
  • New York – EMPR Knicks
  • Miami – F3|DR Gross
  • Dallas: HandySavage
  • San Francisco – Blind Ducky
  • Los Angeles – Nubcakes
  • Atlanta – Noble|Tweedy
  • Seattle – STDX|2EZ

The victorious EMPR Knicks and Nubcakes now join Liga Latina winner Vertex|KillerXinok and runner-up KKA|Konqueror249 from Brazil as the first four participants in the Injustice 2 ELEAGUE World Championship, which will serve as the Grand Finale of the Injustice 2 Championship Series. They’ll be joined by the top 8 of the upcoming Injustice 2 Pro Series Finals, the top 2 players from the European Path to Pro Series, as well as a final two players determined from an open qualifier on Saturday, October 21st.

Street Fighter V: Ken can blow up Cammy’s V-Reversal in an abundance of ways

Cammy’s V-Reversal has long been problematic for Street Fighter V players. While there was a nerf to it in Season 2 that didn’t allow it to knock down, characters that don’t have a parry — so mostly everyone except Alex, Ryu, and Akuma — had problems dealing with the side switch and white health that Cammy was allowed off one bar of V-meter.

However, Shaquille has found some options with Ken that deal with her V-Reversal quite handily. Ranging from normals, specials, Critical Art, and V-Trigger, Ken can deal hefty damage if he predicts Cammy will V-Reversal, making Cammy players scared to use it again.

With this discovery, there will likely be more with other characters down the line.
