TERA – PAX West 2017 – Hands on with the Console Version
Tera has been around on the free-to-play MMORPG for PC’s for a few years and has garnered itself a large following of fans and players. Now, as the game readies to make it jump from PC exclusive to the F2P console market En Masse is ready to give players their first taste of what it’s like to play Tera on a console. We were able to snag some hands-on time with the upcoming port at PAX and check out how it feels to play Tera on its new home.
LawBreakers – New Patch to Limit Roles Per Team Per Match
With today’s update, LawBreakers will be changing quite a bit. Most significantly, team roles will be limited to two of any given type per match. “[W]e’ve decided that the game is simply a lot more fun without role stacking. From now on Quick Play will feature a 2 role limit — this means that you’ll never run into 3 or more of the same role stacked against you”, read the patch notes.
Destiny 2 – 1.2M Concurrent Players & Low Physical Box Sales
Destiny 2 has achieved a pair of statistical milestones over the week that was. On Friday evening, Bungie confirmed that 1.2M players were taking part in the game concurrently. This includes both XBox One and PlayStation 4 players and at a time when D2 had been in release for a scant three days. Secondly, the number of physical copies of Destiny 2 is down significantly over Destiny 1. According to NeoGAF, D2 has only sold 175k physical editions as compared to 417k for D1.

So often, you hear complaints that too many fighting games give giant rewards for “losing”. No one wants to have their secured victory stolen by a comeback mechanic, after all. (Until they are the ones that need a comeback, of course!)
Those looking for a meter system that rewards the winner might be interested in the way Pokkén Tournament does things, as Mitchel explains.
The entire purpose of winning Pokkén’s Field Phase is to score its massive meter reward. While Pokkén still does reward the loser with a small amount of meter, this demonstration makes it clear how disparate the gain is between the two. Couple its natural reward with critical hit-only combos in field phase, and you have a system that massively rewards knowledgeable, intentional manipulation of its system by skilled players.

It seems like every time we turn around, the more we see CYG BST|Daigo Umehara playing Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Between his stream on Thursday with Ogou and Kurahashi, and his pledge to play in ST at Canada Cup, it looks like The Beast is back in his natural habitat.
While at Celtic Throwdown in Dublin, Ireland last weekend, Daigo sat down to a first to nine set against one of England’s best ST players — GolcarJack. Every game was packed with action, and shows not only how strong Umehara is in the game after all these years, but how strong Europe is in the game.
