Frosty Faustings X releases information and registration details

The time draws close to think ahead to another tournament! Winter is marked by a popular Midwest tournament, Frosty Faustings X. While the event mainly celebrates Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 and its legacy, it’s open to all kinds of fighting games, beyond just anime titles.

“We are excited to announce our full game lineup and event info for Frosty Faustings X,” Mike “ElvenShadow” Boczar, the co-organizer of the event, told SRK in a statement. “We are very proud to be carrying on the tradition with our 10th year anniversary event, returning again to the Waterford Conference Center in Elmhurst, IL! Our unique two-day format is back with over 30 individual tournaments and other special events to maximize player enjoyment and experience!”

New trailer breaks down all the new features coming to Pokkén Tournament DX

Pokkén Tournament DX is coming to Nintendo Switch in less than a month. For those who’re still not clear on what this new version of the game brings (side from being playable on the Switch, of course), Nintendo has released a new trailer for the game, offering more details.

In terms of Pokémon, Pokkén Tournament DX adds Decidueye, who joins the four additional Pokémon added to the arcade version: Darkrai, Empoleon, Croagunk, and Scizor. This is in addition to the two new support Pokémon: Litten and Poplio.

Of course, new Pokémon aren’t all that Pokkén Tournament DX offers. The game also features The King of Fighters-style 3-on-3 team battle mode, online replays, daily challenges, and more. You can learn more about these in the trailer below.

Pokkén Tournament DX hits Nintendo Switch on September 22.

Menat video roundup for Street Fighter V: Ambiguous mix-ups, V-Trigger loops, Xian’s Menat, and more!

Happy Menat-Friday. I was at a local event last night and there were three different stations running Menat players, one of them with Menat mirrors. Something in my gut tells me that the Street Fighter V community is enjoying this character. Let’s see what the future holds for her!

First up, VesperArcade shares their basic Menat combo guide.

Next, we have Young Commander showing off some theoretical uses for Menat’s V-Trigger in offense and defense.

And while setups and smart play are all well and good, sometimes you just want a giant combo. Redwolfxx would like to remind you Menat can do that, too. (And get some nice punishes on block!)

Those that link a little rhythm in their long combos will appreciate Y. Xiao‘s V-Trigger loops.

Meanwhile, Speedy963 has some ideas for optimizing V-Trigger juggles.

While this is neither the first nor last time I’ll type this, someone (in this case, Eastyy) found that Abigail’s hitbox doesn’t quite match the model. Sorry, Menat.
