BoxeR-King breaks down Tekken 7’s notorious King vs. Xiaoyu matchup

If you ever ask a King player what their worst character match-up is in Tekken 7, more often then not they’ll tell you it’s Ling Xiaoyu. Broadly speaking, the slippery nature of Xiaoyu’s “Art of Phoenix” stance combined with her high damage and safety makes it incredibly difficult for King to ever get his offense started.

But King pro BoxeR-King doesn’t want you to think it’s a lost cause. In this over 15 minute dissertation on the matchup, he lays down various King anti-AOP strategies for you to employ, as well as some clever block punishments you can use.

Wild, impractical combos are on display in the latest King of Fighters XIV combo video by Combonauts

King of Fighters XIV combo makers COMBONAUTS are known purveyors of the impractical. Following up their series of 100% combos with the whole cast, COMBONAUTS makes their grand return with goofy mid-combo projectile parries, unlikely anti-air scenarios, and more.

You’ll almost definitely find more optimal uses of meter then these combos, but will you find a cooler way to finish your opponent? Maybe not. This wild creativity is what COMBONAUTS specializes in, so if you like what you see, be sure to check out their channel for more great KOF content.

Allegiance signs Gustavo “801 Strider” Romero to their fighting game division

Ahead of Capcom Cup next month, Team Allegiance are entering the Street Fighter scene by signing top US Laura player, Gustavo “801 Strider” Romero. Strider just made it into Capcom Cup following his performance at Canada Cup, earning him a chance to show the strength of Matsuda Jiu-Jitsu on the big stage.

This will be Strider’s second Capcom Cup appearance; he made it into the final 32 for Capcom Cup 2015 with the grappling Frenchman Abel. Hopefully Laura’s electrifying offense will see Strider making it further into the bracket. He also has the bonus of currently being the only Laura at Capcom Cup 2017 — unless Idom or Wolfkrone make it through via the Last Chance Qualifier.

Fun fact about the Allegiance team, all of its three FGC members (Strider, Evo 2017 and ELEAGUE champion Dragon and Canada’s best Captain Falcon None) play characters who have electric/lightning-based attacks. Lighting apparently strikes thrice for Team Allegiance.

Get a visual before and after demonstration of all of the Injustice 2 patch 1.12 changes, courtesy of Noble|Raptor

NetherRealm Studios dropped the latest update, patch 1.12, for Injustice 2 earlier this month. While the last few monthly patches primarily focused on bug fixes, Gear adjustments and the addition of Legendary Multiverses and Fighter Pack 2 DLC characters, this latest patch served as the game’s second balance update, bringing with a host of changes to a variety of cast members.

Though NRS provided minor demonstrations and explanations of some of the more pertinent changes on their semi-annual Watchtower Livestream, Noble|Raptor has taken it upon himself to create a full “Before & After” video showing off every single notable alteration to the game between version 1.11 and 1.12.  This is an undeniable must-watch if you’re an avid Injustice 2 player, or if you’re just curious about what some of their wording means on specific bullet points in the notes.

Let us know if you found this dose of visual aid helpful, and what your thoughts are on the current state of Injustice 2‘s balance in the comments section below.
