Eric Jacobus proves he’s “Unpredictabo!” by emulating Geese Howard’s moves in the latest “Real-Life Tekken”

Stuntman, actor and martial artist Eric Jacobus has recently returned to uploading episodes of his “Real-Life Tekken” series, wherein he takes a shot at replicating some of the more practical movesets of fighting game characters — through the usage of various bags and props, as accurately to the source material as possible.

To celebrate the recent release of Geese Howard as a DLC character in Tekken 7, Jacobus looks to emulate SNK’s King of South Town’s expanded 3D moveset as well as he humanly can: obviously without all of the Ki Charging, Reppukens and Raging Storms, with the same attacks being performed by Geese inside the game, played along simultaneously.

Though it may not be as realistic as most arsenals naturally seen in the franchise, Jacobus tackles the challenge with his trademark style and flair, even noting that the sheer impractical nature of the moves is in fact what makes them so interesting to see re-enacted.

“Geese’s style is catered to The King Of Fighters engine, which has all kinds of projectiles and strange attacks that don’t align with any one martial arts style. While some of his kicks could be useful, and a couple of his throws have applications, most of his moves are useless in real life, which makes them look super cool.” He even gets his “Hollywood cat actor,” Skid, in on the action. You can see the full video below.

You can check out some of his previous work, covering Miguel in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Hot Ryu in Street Fighter V, and more.

Daigo Umehara and Tokido face off in high-level… Nidhogg play?

Daigo Umehara and Tokido have long been rivals, and what better way to perpetuate the rivalry by pitting them in an American-developed game they have never seen before?

On a recent charity stream for Extra Life, Tasty Steve and Sajam pitted the Japanese players against each other in the orginal Nidhogg. While not a traditional fighting game, the two were quick to discover tech, and in the matches that unfold we see the two unraveling various intricacies of the game, developing high-level tech and mind games on the fly to get their wins.

Evo Japan 2018 will include a 2v2 Waseda-style Pokkén Tournament DX side event

It looks like CvS2 isn’t the only fighter to get a sudden late entry into Evo Japan in 2018 — Pokkén Tournament DX will join the festivities as well!

This free entry, Waseda-style tournament will be held on Saturday, January 27 at Ikebuburo Sunshine City. For those unfamiliar with Waseda style: Teams A and B have their 1st players battle each other, then 2nd players play each other. No single person can carry a whole team with this format — if that sounds familiar, this is the same team format used in North America’s Final Boss Team Tournament.

Though this is a side event, this team tournament’s finals will be broadcast live from the main stage of Evo Japan.

Thanks to Midori for the translation! Check out the full list of other Evo Japan side events here.
