Team Dignitas grows its new Super Smash Bros. roster by signing Jose “Lucky” Aldama

Not content with signing one Super Smash Bros. Melee player, Team Dignitas has also announced that top SoCal Fox player, Jose “Lucky” Aldama has joined their growing FGC roster. Currently ranked 17th in the world and 4th in SoCal, Lucky’s 2017 was a bit of a rollercoaster, getting top 8 finishes at big events like Evo 2017, The Bigger Balc, Low Tier City 5 and Flatiron 2, while placing lower than expected at events like Shine, GT-X 2017 and The Big House 7.

Hopefully, his signing to Team Dignitas will see Lucky returning to form and getting back to regular top 8 placings. Both HugS and Lucky were previously signed to Selfless Gaming, whose women’s CS:GO team now play for Dignitas — I suspect the link between these organizations played a part in getting both players noticed by Dignitas.

Like HugS, Lucky will be sporting the black and yellow at Genesis 5 this weekend, hoping to set the pace for another year’s worth of intense competitive Melee.

World of Warcraft – 7.3.5 Arrives Tomorrow with ZoneScaling, Silithus Quests & More But No Allied Races

For those who have been looking forward to the next chapter in World of Warcraft: Legion, we have good news: Patch 7.3.5 arrives tomorrow complete with Ulduar Timewalking, new quests in Silithus, the new zone scaling feature, the Seething Short battleground (available after a short time) and several updated features. The Lunar Festival will have new hats and a “sturdier” Sturdy Love Fool will be part of the coming weeks.

Yatagarasu: Attack On Cataclysm’s official Evo Japan side tournament details released

With Japan being the birthplace of the fighting game genre as we know it, it’s not surprising that there are a number of side tournaments at Evo Japan beyond its official roster. One of the side tournaments at the event is for Yatagarasu: Attack On Cataclysm.

For those interested in competing at Yatagarasu: Attack On Cataclysm at Evo Japan, the details for the tournament, including how to register have been released.

The side tournament will take place on January 27, day two of Evo Japan, and will use the arcade version of the game. This means any PC players used to playing on pad will have to adapt to using an arcade stick. The rules themselves should be familiar to anyone who’s been to other side tournaments — double elimination, 99 second rounds, no game stopping glitches allowed.

Those interested in joining Yatagarasu: Attack On Cataclysm‘s Evo Japan side tournament can do so over at the AnimEVO Japan site. Those who join will receive a special Yatagarasu badge featuring Hina and Shimo.
