Liga Brasileira will be the first Latin American event to feature Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, on January 20th

Latin America has become recently well known for its high-caliber Street Fighter players, and all eyes are now on the region — the home of Capcom Cup champion MenaRD — to see the direction they’ll take in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.

We won’t have to wait too long, as Brazil’s Liga Brasileira in Rio de Janeiro will be hosting the region’s first Arcade Edition event on January 20th. Featured at the event will be DidimoKOF — who went on a tear at Capcom Cup — as well as many others from the region, including Stunner, Paoloweb, and Baby Brasil — a strong F.A.N.G who has twice eliminated Keoma from CPT events. The stream will run on the Promo Arena channel on Twitch at 7:00 AM PT on January 20th.

Team Dignitas returns to the FGC by signing Hugo “HugS” Gonzalez

After an extended hiatus from the FGC, European esports organization Dignitas has signed Hugo “HugS” Gonzales to signal their return to the scene, and their entry into the world of Super Smash Bros. HugS is a true veteran in the world of Super Smash Bros. Melee, having competed at tournaments since 2004. During his career, he’s become one of the best Samus players in the world, inspiring many players to don the Varia Suit and fire off some charge shots.

A constant presence in the top 30, HugS is currently ranked 23rd in the world, with high placings at events like GT-X 2017, Low Tier City 5 and The Bigger Balc proving that this old man can still keep up with the new generation. HugS will sport the black and yellow at Genesis 5 next weekend.

The last fighting game player Dignitas had under their banner was Ryan Hart, who was released from the team in February of 2015 as Digntias focused their energies into PC esports. With successful teams in games like CS:GO, Smite, Heroes of the Storm and PUBG, we may see Dignitas expanding into further fighting games in 2018.

Get started with Injustice 2’s Enchantress with these useful videos

Enchantress has just released for Injustice 2, and people will be looking to get a leg up on the competition with her. Fortunately, TrueUnderDawg has released this great guide that breaks her down.

With great strings and a Trait that controls spacing really well in a multitude of ways, Enchantress has the potential to be a really strong character. She also has a few interesting mix-ups that will work early on due to character unfamiliarity, but may wear off as people grow accustomed to fighting against her.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT open beta has launched: details and dates you need to know

January is sure a busy month for fighting games, and while many turn their attention to Dragon Ball FighterZ, we can’t forget about Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, which will finally be unleashed on the PlayStation 4 on January 30th. In the meantime, everyone can test out the game for free, if they own a console!

The open beta — which has just launched — will feature 15 rotating characters, unlockable gear, weapons, and skills, and two gameplay modes: Ranked Match for online battles and Gauntlet for offline duels against AI. Note that any progress won’t be carried over should you decide to purchase the full game.

The open beta will last until January 21st; the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT official website has a breakdown of which characters will be available during certain windows.

When you’re ready to jump in, visit the Official PlayStation Store page to download the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT open beta client. Note that a PlayStation Plus subscription is not required to play!
