Pokemon Go – Niantic Partners with NetEase to Bring Pokemon Go to China
Nearly 18 months after the release of Pokemon Go to most of the world, Niantic has announced a partnership agreement with NetEase to bring the augmented reality game to China. Prior to today’s announcement, Pokemon Go was banned in China “due to concerns around national security and public safety”. Niantic has been working since them to tweak the game and add warning messages to it to prevent accidents and provide more personal security to players.
Overwatch – Competitive Season 8 Begins with Several Changes
If you’re into Overwatch competitive play, you’ll definitely want to check out a recent developer blog post about changes coming to Season 8 which has now kicked off. Most of the changes come through matchmaking including limiting the “maximum Skill Rating” differences between the highest SR player and the lowest SR player on the same team.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – ‘The Final Goal [is] to Launch the Title on Every Platform’ According to PUBG Corp CEO
In a new interview with IvenGlobal, PUBG Corp CEO Han Kim has revealed that the company would like the game to become a “universal media franchise” and that “the final goal would be to launch the title on every platform”. Currently, PUBG is available only on PC and XBox One, though release on other platforms is still out in the distant future. “PUBG will be an exclusive title on XBox One for some time” Kim said.
Fortnite – Sneaky Silencers Limited Time Mode Coming This Week
If you’ve been looking forward to logging in to Fortnite: Battle Royale, today may be a good day as a new update will be going live later this week called Sneaky Silencers. The event runs from January 5th through January 8th. During the event, all weapons are “limited to Suppressed SMG and Suppressed Pistols only”.
