The King of Fighters ’97 Global Match is coming to PS4, PS Vita and PC this spring

As well as the reveal of Oswald and King of Fighters XIV‘s second trio of DLC characters, SNK has also announced that a brand new port of King of Fighters ’97 is coming later this year. Titled The King of Fighters ’97 Global Match, this port’s main feature is online play, allowing fighters from all over the world to fight for the crown.

Much like the recent Garou: Mark of the Wolves and Samurai Shodown V Special rereleases, KOF ’97 Global Match will not receive any visual or gameplay overhauls — it just adds online play for those looking to play this SNK classic against others. Having said that, it will no doubt get a special Gallery mode and trophy support, similar to the aforementioned ports.

Given the vague release date of “spring 2018”, expect more news on The King of Fighters ’97 Global Match in the coming months. With SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy also on the horizon, it’s a good time to be an SNK fan.

Sakura and Ryu skins are coming to Monster Hunter: World

It was recently announced that Monster Hunter crossover costumes would be coming to Street Fighter V and now it looks like a little piece of Street Fighter V will be coming to Monster Hunter, as special Sakura and Ryu armor sets have been announced for Monster Hunter: World. In addition to the likeness of the two world warriors, these armors come complete with Shoryukens, Hadoukens and that signature Ansatsuken fighting stance.

Now you can trade fireballs and mixups with scaly, winged beasts of all varieties. Ryu will reportedly be arriving sometime in February this year, but no news on a date for Sakura yet. Like the Horizon Zero Dawn crossover armor, you will have to complete a special Event Quest to unlock these Street Fighter skins. Hunters on both Xbox One and PS4 will get access to the Ryu and Sakura armor, but if you have save data for Street Fighter V on your console, you’ll get early access to the Ryu Event Quest.
