Evo Japan 2018 streaming live from Tokyo, Japan

This weekend is the inaugural Evo Japan! An event that has been years in the making, the Evolution Champion Series has joined forces with the major tournament organizers of Japan to put together three days of competition in seven of the most popular fighting games of today. With over 5000 registered players, this tournament will be a chance for many to compete in their very first Evo event.

The first two days of Evo Japan will take place at the Sunshine City Bunka Hall in Toshima, Tokyo. Day 3 will be at Akiba Square in Akihabara. Finals will be spread over the three days, with ARMS on Friday, The King of Fighters XIV and BlazBlue Centralfiction on Saturday, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Tekken 7, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 and Street Fighter V Arcade Edition on Sunday.

In addition to the official games are a wealth of side tournaments on both arcade and console. A number of upcoming titles will be in playable form at the event, including BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, Fighting EX Layer, and SoulCalibur VI.

Thousands of players, from beginner to world-class, will be competing over the weekend. For brackets and player lists, check out Smash.gg.

Evo Japan will have two streams for English viewers. Evo will be providing the main stream for the event, while Capcom Fighters will be providing dedicated coverage for Street Fighter V. Japanese coverage will be on OPENREC.tv, with five streams total.

Learn to wield the gunblade with ease: Maximilian’s Squall breakdown for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

January 30th is just around the corner, which means that fans will be able to enjoy the full console version of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT very soon.  Continuing to help prepare those anxious for this game’s release, Maximilian has created yet another character breakdown, this time focusing on the highly-popular (and also highly-unpopular!) Squall Leonheart.

If  you are among those who claim Final Fantasy VIII as their favorite game of the franchise, there is a good chance that the gunblade-wielder will be the leader of your three-man team. If that is the case for you, there’s quite a bit you need to know before you go off hacking and blasting on the battlefield, especially if you want to seize victory (and impress Rinoa). Heroes of the Storm – Maiev Shadowsong is About to Shatter Illidan’s Peace in the Nexus

They may have grudgingly worked together during Legion in World of Warcraft, but Illidan Stormrage and his captor, Warden Maiev Shadowsong have been “frenemies” for 10,000 years. Perhaps Illidan thought the Nexus an escape from her but he’s in for a rude awakening. The Heroes of the Storm Twitter has revealed that Maiev is coming to the Nexus with more to be revealed tomorrow, Friday, January 26th.
