Change up your fighting attire with this costume trailer for SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy

As part of NIS America’s annual press event, fighter fans got a brand new trailer for SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. This trailer mainly focuses on Tag Team Frenzy’s extensive costume options, where players can dress their favorite SNK heroines in all manner of cool outfits.

Alongside some of the more revealing costumes, this trailer showed that players can dress characters like Nakoruru, Mai Shiranui and Athena in their classic costumes — as seen in other games like King of Fighters or Samurai Shodown.

This was not the only major Tag Team Frenzy announcement though, as producer Yasuyuki Oda teased the next fighter to join the roster will be a grappler. Seeing as she was in SNK Gals Fighter and has grappler-style moves, the most likely candidate is Shermie, who first appeared in King of Fighters ’97.

FightCade alternative KnightCade has entered public beta

While FightCade and its successor FightCade 2 have enjoyed mass appeal from retro fighting game fans, the program is not without what some would call flaws. There have been lingering issues of IP security where people can grab your IP address and trace your physical location based off of that.

This is where KnightCade has stepped in, and is launching their public beta of their client. This client acts in similar fashion to FightCade, but lacks peer-to-peer pings — which secures your IP by never sending it to any other client and disables country flags — which also can cause location security issues.

The beta is accessible via their Discord channel if you wish to try out this FightCade alternative.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle DLC characters to be revealed this Thursday on the February Arc Nama stream

With less than four months to go before release, the news just keeps coming for fans of BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. Following its official confirmation into the Evo 2018 main lineup, as well as the announcement that Team RWBY’s Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long will be permanently free DLC characters, the recently-opened Japanese website for BBTAG revealed the next monthly Arc Nama stream will take place this Thursday, February 15th.

As to why this date is significant, ever since the reveals of Jin Kisaragi, Yosuke Hanamura and Linne back in September, Arc System Works has continuously revealed members of the base roster on these streams, with the most recent one unveiling the BlazBlue quartet of Iron Tager, Makoto Nanaya, Nu-13 and Es back in December. With 18 unknown DLC characters remaining, which will be distributed in six three-character Volumes, it’s safe to assume that the other warriors will come from BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena and Under Night In-Birth. While the upcoming challengers could be anyone’s guess, it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Investigation Team’s Kanji Tatsumi finally join the fray to complete the grappler trio with Tager and Waldstein, as well as maintaining the tradition of revealing members of the Persona 4 cast in the order they joined the in-game party.

The broadcast will take place at 8 PM JST, (3 AM PST, 6 AM EST, 5 AM CST) at twitch.tv/arcsystemworks, so tune in if you’re up and stay right here at Shoryuken for full coverage of the reveal.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will release for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC on May 31st in Japan and Asia. A North American release will follow on Tuesday, June 5th. A European release date has not been announced as of writing.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy will ship as a “full game” at launch

Upon the announcement of 20 DLC characters in a 40 character cast, many players were quick to decry Arc System Works for their choices in BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. Fortunately for SNK fans, the company have been keeping an eye on community complaints for their upcoming fighter.

In a recent interview with DualShockers, SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy producer Kaito Soranaka stated that SNK “really needs to think about how we are going to approach future announcements”, following the negative feedback to BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle‘s character roster reveal. Clearly the backlash has echoed around the Japanese games industry, with other companies hopefully learning a valuable lesson.

NISA’s Senior Product Marketing Manager Travis Shrodes followed up this answer with his own response, stating that Tag Team Frenzy will launch as “a ‘full game’” later this year — suggesting that there will be no day one DLC characters like with BBTAG.
