Team Liquid returns to Smash 4 with the signing of world’s best Bayonetta Saleem “Salem” Akiel Young

Following Nairo’s departure from Team Liquid to join NRG, the esports organization took a bit of a hiatus from the world of Smash 4. Now, they are making their grand return by signing the world’s best Bayonetta and current rank two on the PGR, Saleem “Salem” Akiel Young.

A string of huge victories in 2017 — including Evo, 2GGC: Fire Emblem Saga, DreamHack Atlanta and Smash 4 Boot Camp — helped Salem carve out a position as one of the titans of the Smash 4 world. Now that ZeRo is on a competitive hiatus, expect this Bayonetta main to be gunning for that world number one spot.

Salem will be representing the blue and white at Frostbite 2018 this weekend, hoping to rack up his first gold medal of the year. Should Hungrybox hold his position at the top of the Melee foodchain, Team Liquid could have both the Melee and Smash 4 world number ones by the end of 2018.

– Can A:IR and Bless Revitalize the AAA MMORPG?

It seems like a long shot, since traditionally Eastern MMORPGs are played but niche here in the states. But I think there’s good reason to believe that on the heels of successful games like Black Desert Online, Ascent: Infinite Realm and Bless Online could make publishers think twice about investing in AAA MMORPGs. Of course, this is purely me spitballing on a slow news Friday, so let’s play shall we?

For Honor on PC is getting dedicated servers on February 19, consoles to follow soon after

When it launched one of the biggest issues players experienced with For Honor was with its online multiplayer. For a game where multiple players could join in on a match, the game’s default setup of having players host games simply could not suffice. Now, a year since then, the game is finally getting dedicated servers.

Originally announced in their developer roadmap last July, dedicated servers will be coming to the PC version of For Honor on February 19 — with consoles getting them some time afterwards.

These dedicated servers come just in time for the game’s fifth season of content, titled Age of Wolves, which launches on February 14: the game’s first anniversary. Alongside the dedicated servers, Age of Wolves brings with it improvements to five of the games heroes, as well as adjustments to progression and ranked play. This is on top of a three-week seasonal event, as well as new training modes set to launch sometime later in the season.
