Japan’s best in Capcom vs. SNK 2 warm up at GameSpot Versus before Evo Japan

At Evo Japan, BAS held one of the largest Capcom vs. SNK 2 events in recent memory, with over 70 entrants in attendance. But before the fireworks ignited and people lived and let die, Japan’s players congregated at GameSpot Versus for a last-minute tune-up event.

As a monthly tournament, GameSpot Versus always brings out top CvS2 players, but this January was particularly impressive. Thankfully Silentscope uploaded the event prior to the loss of footage on Twitch, so that we can see the event before the big event.

Here are the main stage games for Evolution Championship Series 2018!

The lineup for 2018’s biggest fighting game event has been revealed!

It’s official: as revealed on tonight’s Evo 2018 announcement show (streamed live on Red Bull Esports’ Twitch channel), we now know the eight titles — not only seven, as initially teased — that will grace the main stage in Las Vegas this year! They are:

  • Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition
  • Tekken 7
  • Injustice 2
  • Dragon Ball FighterZ
  • Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2
  • BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee
  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

The games that will be featured in the Arena finals on Sunday are (order undecided):

  • Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition
  • Tekken 7
  • Dragon Ball FighterZ
  • Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee

A big year for Arc System Works, as Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 returns alongside newcomers Dragon Ball FighterZ and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle! But the absence of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is a sure disappointment to the Marvel Vs. scene, unfortunately. Stay tuned for updates on side events!

Registration is expected to open in about a week. Keep your eyes on the Evo website, Twitter, and Shoryuken.com for updates! The Evo 2018 World Finals will take place at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 3-5, 2018.

Light up opponents with Lil Majin’s Burning Knuckle traps for Tekken 7’s King

When hunting for new, high-damage combos in Tekken 7, you should keep in mind that juggles are not the only combo-able state your opponent can be put in. Knowledge like this is That’s what led to Lil’ Majin‘s discovery that King’s OTG hitting Burning Knuckle is technically guaranteed with the correct setup.

It’s practical too — even if the opponent willingly stays on the ground to take less damage from the Burning Knuckle, the ensuing combo does more damage then any of King’s typical juggle options in these situations. On top of that, the unblockable cannot be escaped, and it can’t be countered by characters with reversal moves.
