World of Warcraft – Micro-Holiday ‘Hatching of the Hippogryphs’ is Tomorrow!

One of the new features in World of Warcraft: Legion is the addition of “micro-holidays”, events that offer a fun new event for players to participate in. The Hatching of the Hippogryphs event is taking flight on February 23rd and will take place in Feralas. Participants lucky enough to view the “yearly hatching of the hippogryphs” might even get a “little friend for the day”.

Broly and Bardock’s profiles and stats are now up on the Dragon Ball FighterZ official site

Hot on the heels of giving us our first in game visuals of them, Bandai Namco Games has now put up the character pages for Broly and Bardock on the official Dragon Ball FighterZ website in Japan.

The profiles given for both fighters seem to give good indication of how they’ll play in the game. Specifically, Broly seems like he’ll play like a traditional “big body” character, with armor on his moves. His stats seem to support this with both power and reach rated as “SS”, while his speed is rated at a lowly “C”.

Goku’s dad Bardock on the other hand seems to be more of a rushdown chararcter. To this end, his power and speed are rated as “S”, but his reach is only rated as “B”, making him out to be a fast character meant to fight up close to his opponent. Interestingly enough, both characters are both rated as “S” in terms of ease of use.

In addition to these, we’re also given the names of what may be their super moves. Broly’s is the “Eraser Cannon”, while Bardock has the “Riot Javelin”. This is on top of the ultimate attack names we previously learned which are “Gigantic Meteor” for Broly, and “Revenger Assault” for Bardock.

Heidern announced as an upcoming DLC character for The King of Fighters XIV

“Some fight to win, I fight to kill. Scary, huh?”

The commander of the Ikari Warriors is returning to duty in The King of Fighters XIV.

It has been a while since the hand-bladed Solider appeared in The King of Fighters series, and he looks as stylish and brutal as ever. Do my ears deceive me, does Heidern say “Go to HEAVEN!” now instead of “Hell”? I’m fine with either. Heidern can send people anywhere he wants.

SNK (and Atlus) have been very good about quickly getting movelists out for DLC characters since KOFXIV’s release, so we can expect to see that soon. It’ll be interesting to see if Heidern returns to being a charge character or not, and how his new moves will fit into his repertoire.

Oswald, Heidern, and the other as-of-yet unannounced DLC characters are set to appear in April, 2018.

The Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 2.1 patch is coming to consoles on March 1st

Rejoice, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 fans! Earlier this year, Arc System Works announced a 2.1 patch for REV 2. The company hasn’t given a specific release date, stating that it will arrive on consumer devices sometime in March. Well, it turns out that “sometime in March” equals “as soon as March begins –” that is, March 1st.

The Japanese ASW portal site announced the specifics of the patch, which is coming to the PlayStation 3 and 4 versions of the game (the Steam patch will come at a later date). While there are some changes to various modes in the game, the most exciting are the balance updates to combat. The community has already translated the 2.1 patch notes into English, which we have seen in action in a loketest.

However, we aren’t sure whether this patch will apply to European and American versions of the game. We’ll update the story should ASW US or Aksys Games confirm on the matter.

Additionally, make sure to check out REV 2 2.1 version Mikado matches and a video round-up of impressions.
