Learn to force high damage mix-ups off of King’s Irish Whip in Tekken 7

As Tekken 7′s primary grappler, King has a wide variety of command grabs — more, in fact, than most players know what to do with.

One command grab in particular that tends to get overlooked is King’s Irish Whip. This throw has a unique 1+2 break animation, with five extensions that re-position the opponent. Each extension has a different throw break, and one of them is even unbreakable!

With stage awareness and a willingness to learn some complex okizeme options, King can quickly shave off half of your opponent’s life bar with the opportunities the Irish Whip extensions provide. Check out J King‘s video above to see everything Irish Whip can do for your game!

FGC Philosophy talks instant gratification vs. delayed gratification when setting goals

Training Mode: the double-edged sword of the FGC. It’s necessary to work out your mental muscles in training mode so that you can prepare for the problems you’ll face in battle. But it’s also frustrating to think that time spent training could have been time spent having fun in an actual match.

That’s an example of the push-pull of “Instant” vs. “Delayed” gratification. The Philocypher‘s latest episode of “FGC Philosophy” tackles some real life examples of each, and how you can strike a balance between the two to accomplish your long-term FGC goals.

Panda Global and Victor “Punk” Woodley part ways

Amid news of the dissolution of Splyce and Circa Esports, there’s another sponsored player to add to the list of free agents. Surprisingly, it’s one of the most successful prodigies in the FGC — Street Fighter V pro Victor “Punk” Woodley.

The separation seems to be mutual; at the time of this writing, Panda Global hasn’t acknowledged the release of Punk on their official site. If Punk is actively looking for sponsors, it’s likely he won’t remain a free agent for very long — his resume alone should ensure that.
