The Overwatch Uprising event is ready to roll again, this year starting on April 10th. The announcement was made on the Overwatch Twitter in the usual cryptic fashion. The small video seems to be hacked possibly indicating that Sombra will be playing a part in the event.

Fans will be able to ask their burning questions and maybe even score some swage and alpha zero keys.

Sky Noon is something else. Imagine an alternate western-themed world where all water has vanished, so the people take to the sky to farm moisture from the clouds. Two rival factions fight over the floating landmass/dirigibles, but instead of bullets in your six-shooter, you’ll use a variety of air-powered weapons to try and knock the opposing team off the islands and into oblivion. That’s Sky Noon, and it’s basically a western-themed FPS version of Super Smash Bros.
BornFree’s interviews from Final Round 2018 continue, this time with UYU|Brian F. The conversation covers Street Fighter V, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and accessibility of fighting games.
The two open up by talking about how developers want to make their games easier to approach and thus enjoyed by a larger audience. Brian F stresses that this doesn’t make a game necessarily “easier,” but he notes a trend where execution is more streamlined. He also notes that things like auto-combos won’t help players much in the end. “DBFZ is really easy to play,” he says, “but if someone’s better than you, you don’t get to play.” One key factor he points out that’s important to casual players is good matchmaking, which should prevent lower-ranked players from facing opponents with much greater skill level.
Around minute 19:00, the discussion switches to the “Abigail problem” in Street Fighter V: The Arcade Edition. Brian F advises players to just keep playing, and dislikes when people discredit competitors based solely on their character choice.

Dragon Ball FighterZ offers an at times “very wacky” scrambly-type game that gets players lost in the fray. When the chaos isn’t raining down on the screen, though, the ever elusive “What should I be doing right now?” still haunts players. Tatsu gives us some insight and application on not only what positions on the screen are advantageous, but also what tangible goals you can be seeking to accomplish in neutral!

This weekend in Sacramento is 2018 edition of NorCal Regionals, three days of competition in some of the most popular titles as well as a selection of community favorites. As with previous years, NCR 2018 is a Capcom Pro Tour Global Premier Event, as well as a Tekken World Tour Challenger Tournament, giving players of their respective games a chance to an early start on the ranking boards.
As a part of multiple pro circuits, NCR has attracted quite a bit of local and global talent, with nearly 300 players pre-registered for SFV, over 150 for DBFZ and over 100 for Tekken 7. For a look at the full player listings, check out Smash.gg.
