Early Blastoise gameplay for Pokkén Tournament DX shows off command grabs, stance options
We now know why the well has been dry for Blastoise info for Pokkén Tournament DX — it looks like the producers were saving his reveal for a live demo at Japan’s Spring Fist tournament this weekend.
Now that the turtle has come out of his shell, we can see that Blastoise’s move list is (at first glance) surprisingly diverse. He possess more than a few different types of projectiles from his cannons, each covering various angles in different phases. He also seems to have a “Withdraw” stance in both Duel and Field Phase. Perhaps most interesting, Mr. Cannon-Turtle has an armored, mid-range command grab. Add all this together with his healthy 660 HP lifebar, and you have a tank that’s ready for every phase of the fight.
Blastoise is scheduled for release in Pokkén Tournament DX on March 23rd.
