Final Round 2018 streaming live from Atlanta, Georgia
This Friday through Sunday is the 21st edition of Final Round, one of the largest fighting game events in the US. Final Round also marks the beginning of the 2018 Capcom Pro Tour and Tekken World Tour seasons. On top of that is one of the most anticipated duels in the short life of Dragon Ball FighterZ: SonicFox versus GO1. This is a weekend of action you certainly don’t want to miss.
In addition to the above games is an exhibition for the upcoming title SoulCalibur VI, Saturday at 2:30 PM EDT.
As the first tournament in the Capcom Pro Tour (a Global Premier event) and the Tekken World Tour (a Master Tournament), FR2018 is attracting some of fighting game players in the world. For a full list of entries and brackets, check out Smash.gg.
At 6:00 PM EDT Friday is the clash between SonicFox and GO1, arguably the strongest DBFZ players currently in the US and Japan, respectively. Catch this first-to-ten exhibition live on Bifuteki’s Twitch channel.

Conor McGregor’s long time striking coach, Owen Roddy, is confident that if his charge and current Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight champion Max Holloway crossed paths again, the Irishman would this time finish the Hawaiian.
ARMS director Kosuke Yabuki talks about updates, and the possibility of a sequel
Nintendo’s stretchy arena fighter ARMS is one of the most unique games — let alone fighting games — to come out on any system. Its unique combat, controls, and character designs have endeared quite a number of people to it.
This week’s issue of Famitsu includes an interview with the director behind ARMS, Kosuke Yabuki. As part of the interview, Yabuki was asked about the future of the game, including whether or not he would like to see a sequel. Responding to this, Yabuki stated that since the game was less than a year old, they will continue to work on updates to it. That said, he also said that he would eventually like to continue the game’s story, someday.
Whether or not that means we’ll get a sequel, it’ll probably take a while before that happens. Yabuki is, at the moment, still busy with the game — specifically preparing for its official launch in South Korea on April 12.

– Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Review – A Sequel Done Right!
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 succeeds in carrying over everything that was great about the first game while managing to push the genre forward in a fresh way. After spending several late nights hacking and slashing my way through hordes of ratmen and other evils I can honestly say that it’s the most fun I’ve had in a co-op shooter in a long time. So grab that coffee, kick back and enjoy our review of Warhammer: Vermintide 2.
Aigis, Carmine, and Jubei are headed to BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle in Cross Character Pack 2
Earlier today, Arc System Works held their monthly March Arc Nama stream where we got to see the BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle‘s seventh character introduction trailer, revealing the DLC characters that will comprise Cross Character Pack 2.
Breaking from their pattern of revealing the Investigation Team members in the order they joined, we instead got “The Heartless Armed Angel,” Aigis. Our first character from Persona 3, this Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon wields the Persona Pallas Athena, bringing a deadly assortment of firearms, as well as her Orgia Mode, which gives her access to extreme movement options, terrifying instant overheads, and new specials. She also doesn’t appear to have her ammo counter, which should make her a bit easier to play — and make her zoning game even more dangerous.
For Under Night In-Birth we have Carmine Prime, a literal blood knight who possesses the EXS of Lifeblood: Blood Spike, which allows him to freely manipulate his blood in exchange for a portion of his own health, giving him quite the unique and technical playstyle. Finally, we have perhaps the most surprising addition to the cast: the newest member of BlazBlue‘s roster, Jubei. Joining Platinum as the second playable member of the Six Heroes, the “One-eyed Lotus” retains his blistering speed, as well as his upgraded Drive, Shiranui Hagane.
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will be released in Japan for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC on Thursday, May 31st, with a North American release following on the same platforms Tuesday, June 5th. European release details are still being finalized. These characters can be purchased in Cross Character Pack 2 for $4.99 or as part of the All-In-One Character Pack, which includes all 20 DLC characters for $19.99.
