GC Video Plug n Play 3.0 offers lagless HDMI option for Super Smash Bros. Melee players

The Super Smash Bros. Melee community have carried CRT TVs on their back for so long that they’ve accepted the extra weight as a fact of their tournament lives. A new product is looking to make their lives a little easier, however —  GC Video Plug n Play 3.0.

The adapter has a mini-HDMI port to connect to a modern TV, and by default will run in 480i. It’s designed to rely solely on the up-scaling of the TV that’s plugged into it — and because of its lack of built in upscaler, it brings no lag whatsoever when used. If nothing else, this increases the setup options for Melee players in an age when it’s harder and harder to get a CRT.

Nintendo Life reviewed the GC Video Plug n Play 3.0, and you can read their specs and opinions on the new adapter here.
