English beta test for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is coming soon

Arc System Works USA is speaking up about the English beta version of BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle for the first time. We’ve heard about the Japanese version of the game having a beta (a longer period for those who pre-order, but available for anyone for a limited time). The company has announced via Twitter that news regarding this is coming on Monday, April 30th.

A recent BBTAG stream informed us about the beta test period for Japanese users. It will be available for both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch players. Additionally, the next Character Pack will be revealed later in May, and will include the next trio of fighters.

Make sure to stay tuned to Shoryuken for more news about BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle!

– Eden Rising: An Open World Tower Defense Survival RPG

Eden Rising from Nvizzio is definitely a novel idea. Nvizzio is comprised of many ex-Funcom Montreal folks, and though they’ve done a fair bit of contract work in the past, Eden Rising: Supremacy is their first wholly original offering and it’s based on their own brand new Sci-Fantasy IP. It’s part online RPG, but survival game, part tower defense, and all kinds of awesome looking.

The SRK Rollback: Best of April 20-26, 2018

Welcome to the Rollback: a frame-by-frame look back at our past week’s most notable news — and our favorite SRK articles — from April 20 to April 26, 2018!

Zavian “mushin_Z” Sildra, Editor-in-Chief:

Frame 1:
sfv cammy glove
TOPANGA League players share their Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Season 3.5 tier lists

As subjective as tier lists can be, seeing the thoughts of high-level pros on where characters stack up against each other provides some very interesting insight into SFV’s metagame.

Frame 2:
kuroda
BeasTV drops 14-minute trailer for “9road” indie film, starring Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike legend Kuroda

This is one of the most bizarre — and most intriguing — Street Fighter fan projects we’ve seen yet. An indie sci-fi thriller featuring Eita and Kuroda, built upon the mystery of SFIII’s enigmatic “Q”…?! We need to see it.

Frame 3:
Zamasu (Fused) Character Trailer Featured Image
Zamasu (Fused) gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ displays divine dissonance

With this celestial megalomaniac on the way to DBFZ, we can soon expect the reveal of his fused counterpart and opponent Vegito (SSGSS), most likely.

Get started with Ed’s Neo Shadaloo compatriot with Bafael’s beginner guide.

Frame 5:

Capcom updates Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition patch notes for Season 3.5 and the version 3.030 update

Done wrong: sneaking in balance changes unannounced, or leaving them off the patch notes; done right: not making us wait too long to reveal those additions and errors.

Crow_Spaceboy, Assistant Editor:

Frame 1:
dissidia_nt_vayne
Vayne Carudas Solidor graces Dissidia Final Fantasy NT on April 26

I’m happy to live in a time where Vayne is a fighting game character, that’s all.

Frame 2:
ryu is dead -- the flash drive
Street Fighter “You Lose” 32-gigabyte flash drive to be released by BigBoyToysHK in June

Please send help. I think there’s something clinically wrong with me, because it’s been four days and I still laugh every time I see this thing.

Frame 3:
forhonortraining
For Honor receives Training Mode and some rebalancing in a free content patch

Yeah, but… why now? Why release a training mode one year later, after your game completely tanked in the FGC? Who is this for? Where am I?

Frame 4:
shadowgeist
ARIKA drops short Fighting EX Layer trailer showing off updated UI, plans to bring game to Combo Breaker 2018

Time to see who’s paying attention. I promise a big kiss to the individual that can get me to Combo Breaker. Five if you’re dressed as Shadow Geist.

Frame 5:
bladestrangers feature image
New fighting game Blade Strangers is launching this summer on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch

I dunno, man. I don’t think this game’s going to set the world on fire or anything but I think the fact it’s getting a PC release is pretty cool, and it looks like it’d be fun to mess with. Master T’s design is sick and I thank this game for introducing it to me.
