Whether you’re a casual or competitive Dragon Ball FighterZ player, it’s good to familiarize yourself with certain techniques in the game. The “Vanish” technique is an easy and common way to spend super meter — but there’s quite a bit of nuance to the ability. Learning a little more about it will set you apart from other players.
Pro player PG|Nakkiel continues his “Lookout” series with a introduction to the attack, pointing out that the attacker has a slight advantage over the defender (provided that both characters go for light jabs.) However, that doesn’t mean there’s no counter-play against Vanish — usually, attacks that are canceled into Vanish aren’t gapless. The universal anti-air, 2H, might be too slow to stop Vanish, but a Reflect will work — and even result in a punish in the corner. Other than that, a Level 3 Super will always punish a Vanish, and there are some character-specific tools available as well.
