ESAM demonstrates a new anti-Luigi edge-guard for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Even as the world prepares itself for the newly announced Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo Switch, Panda Global’s ESAM continues to push the meta against new threats in the current Wii U tournament scene. The latest example out of ESAM’s lab is the discovery of a fatal flaw in the rising-in-popularity Luigi — the plumber’s up+B has virtually no hit-stun.
Because of this weakness in one of his primary recovery tools, it’s easy for a lot of characters in the cast to simply throw themselves into up+B then get another guaranteed hit after getting knocked up by the uppercut. This knowledge will help you rack up the damage quickly versus the weird and wild plumber.

ARIKA shows off new gameplay footage of Fighting EX Layer’s Hayate
As ARIKA tip-toes closer and closer to their presentation at Combo Breaker 2018, the developers of Fighting EX Layer have steadily revealed new gameplay footage on their official YouTube channel. Most of it has centered around the characters revealed since the launch of the previous beta test, and today’s new video is no exception:
The above video is an excellent showcase the new character Hayate, and his aggressive toolkit. Armed with a sword, a feint-able special, fast DP, and rekka-like shoulder tackle that appears to leave him either at frame-advantage or near neutral, Hayate is an excellent pressure-heavy addition to the FEXL cast.

ETC Chile shows off 20 minutes of high-level Mortal Kombat II exhibition matches on “Free to Play” TV show
Some of Chile’s best Mortal Kombat players had the opportunity to spread their NetherRealm love on Free To Play, a cable TV show centered around video games, comics, and more. NGC 2016 finalists VTR and Ivanovic, Keytonne 2016 finalist Pelao Eis, and ETCChile founder McFly were all in attendance to show off, in particular, the high-level gameplay of Mortal Kombat II.
While Ultimate Mortal Kombat III might be the retro MK fighter of many players’ choice for its high-octane pacing and combos, the ETC Chile crew prove in the 20-minute exhibition above that there’s more than enough life to be had in the more methodical world of MKII.
