Path of Exile – Tencent Buys Up Controlling Shares in Grinding Gear Games

The New Zealand Herald is reporting that Chinese megacorporation Tencent Holdings has bought up a controlling stake in Grinding Gear Games, developers of Path of Exile. The purchase was made after GGG sold up to 80% of its shares to Tencent. Chris Wilson told the newspaper that “the deal meant the company could expand and hire more people for its Auckland-based studio”.

After decisive Dragon Ball FighterZ victories over Teemo in the FT10 exhibition match and EG|NYChrisG in the DBFZ grand finals at Canada Cup Masters Series 2018, CO|GO1 followed up with a bit of fun. As promised by a stretch goal being met on the event’s Matcherino fundraiser, GO1 took to the main stage to sing karaoke for two very thematically appropriate songs: Dragon Ball Z‘s original theme song Cha-La Head Cha-La and THE HERO!!, the opening theme to ONE PUNCH MAN.
