The Heroes of the Storm site has been updated with some new ways for players to unlock loot chests just by watching Twitch streams. From now through July 12th, fans can check in on Twitch streams to earn Heroic or Rare chests. In addition, players can unlock Alterac portraits and even receive free chests from eligible streamers during the giveaway period from June 14-July 12.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developers have posted a new blog on the game’s Steam page to inform the community that, once the new Sanhok map is released next week, solo map selection will be going away. “We can’t support individual map selection for more than two maps”, the blog reads, because it “creates an essentially exponential increase in the number of total separate queues when combined with other queue options”.
The Rage Esports Street Fighter V All-Star League is officially underway, featuring 24 of Japan’s best players in 3v3 team matches. Six team captains were chosen based from the highest-ranking Japanese players on the 2017 Capcom Pro Tour, including Hx.Twitch.CYG BST|Daigo, Echo Fox|Tokido, Fujimura, AW|Nemo, Moke, and Itazan. Captains drafted their teams for the league last week; match play began June 5 and will run until July 28, the weekend before Evo 2018.
The league follows a double round-robin format; each team will play the others twice in a first-to-three set match. During each set the teams select their order and play three matches. The team with two victories will win the set, but each win and loss also counts towards the team’s total round robin score. The three teams with the best records at the end of the both round robins will play each other in the finals on July 28.
