The NEO GEO Mini’s game lineup, controller, and Japanese launch window revealed
SNK recently hosted an online presentation for their upcoming NEO GEO Mini micro console. During the presentation, they revealed not just the game lineup, but also showed its controller, and offered the general release windows for both Japanese and International variants.
The Japanese version of the NEO GEO Mini will be releasing this Summer. The NEO GEO Mini International, however, will be releasing sometime later (nothing more specific was stated).
Both versions will be coming with a number of classic NEO GEO titles, with a number being exclusive to either. You can check out the list of games below.
As you can see above, there are some notable differences in the games lists. The Japanese version for example has all King of Fighters titles released for the system (as well as a few other fighters, such as Last Blade and Aggressors of Dark Combat). The NEO GEO Mini International on the other hand has a bit more variety, including all 5 NEO GEO Metal Slug titles and a few more non-fighting games.
As for the controller, the NEO GEO Mini pad is based on the original game pad SNK released with the NEO GEO CD, and will be available in both black and white variants. Both connect via what seem to be USB Type-C ports at the sides of the console.
In addition to these, the presentation detailed a few other details about the system. You can learn about these and more in the whole NEO GEO Mini online presentation — which you can watch below.
