BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle roundup: Blake combos and frame data, powerful Orie combos, and more
As BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is properly out in the wild now, players are busy figuring the newly-released characters: Blake, Orie, Kanji, and Platinum. We’re going to focus on the first two in this post. Blake certainly is getting lots of attention and lots of combos posted; after all, she is an entirely new character. Orie, on the other hand, comes from Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st], but she’s looking really strong, with extremely good mix-up options and fast screen coverage.
Here’s a video of pretty optimal Blake combos. Her solo attack strings can certainly get pretty long when you’re jumping. There’s also a combo off an overhead and a midscreen cross-up setup with an assist. Toward the end, there’s an example of a Reversal Action punish and a combo into Astral Heat.
Tari posted Blake frame data in two Tweets, so check here to know what is plus and minus:

Thulius posted a setup between Rachel and Blake that traps the opponent in an airblock that’s met with an air unblockable DP.

This Blake and Ruby combo is more about style than damage, but it looks so darn cool. Team RWBY looks spectacular together in this game.

Uri made an unblockable setup with Orie and Jin in the corner; he said it’s possible to use Reversal Action at certain places to get out of this.

If you’re hunting for that Cross Burst, Orie’s EX move in the air, j.214C, will get around in a stylish and effective manner.

Here’s a more substantial clip that shows how well Orie works with Yu. Their pressure masks the mix-up options really well, and can include a safe jump in some situations.

TheArm also posted a setup with Orie, but he paired her up with Hazama for corner shenanigans.
Lastly, LTL teaches us an important lesson about knowing roundstart options:
