Mikado Arcade’s Street Fighter Carnival 11 continues with Fighting Layer, BlazBlue: Central Fiction

Street Fighter Carnival 11 is Mikado Arcade’s currently-ongoing, month-long, multi-game tournament series for a wide variety of classic (and sometimes, obscure) arcade titles. This series is well under way, so start from the beginning if you want to catch up!

Typically, Mikado Arcade tries to keep it as old-school as possible, but newer title will occasionally find their way into SFC’s frame. Such is the case with the first of today’s tournaments, Arc System Works’ BlazBlue: Central Fiction.

Our next VOD is for their Fighting Layer tournament. ARIKA’s Fighting EX Layer drops in about a week and ARIKA, if you’re listening, there’s still time to add Capriccio and Exodus. You can do it.

Fighting Layer is a fantastic game but, as you can see from the side-switch grabs and combo-escape mechanic, it is certainly its own beast. For the curious, you can read more about Fighting Layer‘s gameplay over on the SRK Wiki.

You can follow the action of SFC11 by subscribing to Mikado’s official YouTube channel. For the night owls in the US, you can even try to catch them when they livestream.

First screenshots for Super Baby Vegeta released for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

A well-defined look and a cheeky message for the fans.

Shortly after being announced through V-Jump Magazine, Bandai Namco Entertainment released a batch of screenshots for Super Baby Vegeta who will be coming to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 in the Extra Pack 3 DLC. Bandai Namco Entertainment promises Super Baby Vegeta — and much more content — to be released this summer.

Super Baby Vegeta is looking as intimidating as ever with his perfectly styled hair and cunning grin. Which additional characters do you think will come along for the ride with the GT super villain? Now that Dragon Ball GT seems to have been mostly covered except for maybe General Rilldo, there is plenty of room for other well known and obscure characters to join in on the Time Patrol.

With the Super Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission anime releasing soon, it would be neat to see the new villain or some of the what-if characters make their way outside of Japan. Whatever the new content is, according to Bandai Namco, it’ll pack a wallop. See for yourself below in their most recent related tweet.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition server maintenance scheduled in preparation for Cody’s early arrival on June 25

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition‘s new Mayor of Metro City, Cody, is arriving on June 25 — the Monday this time, rather than the usual Tuesday we typically see updates arriving on. With this, of course, comes the expected server downtime as Capcom adds him — and other material — to the game.

For those wondering when Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition‘s multiplayer servers will go down to apply the mayoral update, Capcom has released the schedule on via the official SFV Server account:

As stated above, the game’s online servers will be down from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific on June 25. During this time, players wont able to play online, or earn any sort of Fight Money. Offline play is, of course, unaffected (aside from the aforementioned inability to earn that Fight Money).

Aside from Cody, the upcoming Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition update brings with it a few other changes. This includes a revamped Survival Mode, as well as an unpaid lootbox system that allows players to gain exclusive cosmetic content.

Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st] to get Evo 2018 side event stream time on August 4th

A side effect of BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle‘s release is renewed interest in French Bread’s Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st]. Between the new visibility of UNIST characters and the dedication of its scene, the game is gaining more momentum and players — evidenced by, if nothing else, this announcement from AnimEVO tournament organizer DarylBunao:

Looks like there will be some full-screen footsies on the Evo side event stream! This isn’t much of a surprise for the anime fighter with the — at the time of this writing — 2nd most entrants at AnimEVO (only behind the universally-popular Windjammers). Or the anime fighter that’s received consistent vocal support from the likes of James Chen.

It’s only up from here, you wonderful, weirdly-named game, you.
