Gloria Victis – It’s Hard to Wage War When You’re Hungry – Cooking System Added
The Gloria Victis team has sent word that aspiring chefs may want to check back into the game thanks to the addition of the cooking system. There are tons of meals and recipes that can provide boons to those partaking. Guilds bringing along a field cook are wise as the food both provides strength and a blessing.
The SRK Rollback: Best of June 8-14, 2018
Welcome to the Rollback: a frame-by-frame look back at our past week’s most notable news — and our favorite SRK articles — from June 7 to June 14, 2018!
Zavian “mushin_Z” Sildra, Editor-in-Chief:
Frame 1:
Dead or Alive 6 announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam in 2019
E3 2018 opened for the FGC with this announcement straight out of left field: a new DOA with refined gameplay and style adjustments (read: less jiggly) to appeal to a broader audience of serious fighting gamers. This could be big. Catch up on details from E3 on this upcoming title here.
Frame 2:
Capcom promises improvements to Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, details to come
I love this compilation, but it definitely needs some fixes, particularly to the online side of the experience. Could “improvements” include new content, too…?
Next announcement: this arena brawler featuring Deku, his idol, and his enemies now has a release window. October’s gonna be busy…
We saw this pitch coming, but Nintendo knocked it right out of the park for Smash fans; with gameplay tweaks alongside a massive roster of every playable Smash fighter from every prior game — including publisher-crossovers like Cloud, Ryu, Sonic, and Solid Snake! — this game looks like it really deserves the “Ultimate” moniker.
Frame 5:
SoulCalibur VI returns to the Stage of History on October 19, 2018; New story mode trailer revealed
The other game that’ll eat into our October time will be SCVI; Bandai Namco is also pushing this title out right before Canada Cup 2018 — which may well become the first major for it.

Frame 1:
Nicalis’ latest Blade Strangers trailer lets you catch up with the game’s cast of indie characters
Pretty much ready for this game to come out yesterday.
Pretty much my favorite story is “Major Tournament supports game out of love”.
Frame 3:
ESRB rating description accidentally confirms multiple unannounced characters for SoulCalibur VI
I laughed so much that my soul left my body when this came across my desk.
I don’t like “Kill la Kill” and I’m not really a Arc Sys guy, but I love a good mystery.
Frame 5:
Mikado Arcade’s Street Fighter Carnival 11 begins with World Heroes 2 tournament
I am always down to watch Mikado Arcade and/or World Heroes 2 tournaments.
Catch up on what you may have missed in our prior SRK Rollback compilations.

SoulCalibur VI producer Okubo talks about incorporating guest characters like Geralt into the game
As E3 2018 has drawn to a close, we got to see one more interview with the SoulCalibur VI producer, Motohiro Okubo. Interviewed by a Bandai Namco employee, Okubo talks about why the game is positioned around the first SoulCalibur in the timeline, and about the intention behind the Reversal Edge mechanic.
The most interesting tidbit perhaps is when Okubo goes into adding guest characters into the game. He mentions CD Projekt RED’s extremely detailed approach to animating Geralt, making sure that all his animations are in-line with The Witcher lore and video game. Everything — from Geralt’s swings to the angles on his elbows and wrists — is drafted with purpose. Some may not realize that Okubo is also the producer behind Tekken 7, so he’s obviously aware of other guest characters like Geese and Noctis who made it into the other Bandai Namco fighter. In another SoulCalibur interview, Okubo mentioned that Geralt is already “on the disc,” and he did not discount the possibility of adding more guest characters (the game will have a season pass).
We sat down with #SOULCALIBUR VI producer Motohiro Okubo at #E32018 to talk about the evolution of the story, addition of #TheWitcher's Geralt and brand new mechanics. Watch now! #BandaiNamcoE3 pic.twitter.com/q9GwczRmav
