With just a few days left before their release, UK-based content maker Frame Advantage has produced full character breakdowns for base Goku and Vegeta.

While the movesets of both characters had previously been shown in still images and short trailers, Frame Advantage explores specific move properties and combo options. Unsurprisingly, Goku and Vegeta share similar normal attacks with their Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan counterparts, though some appear to have a bit of added range. Their special attacks are very different however, and come with some unique properties.

Normal Goku’s kamehameha is just a single hit, but will match the priority of other beam attacks. His Kaioken super move has allows multiple follow-ups depending on what attack buttons are used, and becomes stronger as Goku’s teammates are knocked out.

By using his “Give Me Your Energy” special move, he can power up his Spirit Bomb special attack to increase the damage and hitstun. Goku’s super Spirit Bomb is incredibly slow but looks to be the most damaging move in the game. He can combo into it using the Level 3 charged version of the Spirit Bomb special, but it may also work with certain combinations of assists or characters. Base Goku’s assist is a wave of energy that pushes the opponent away and has the potential to wall bounce. It can hit from about half-screen away.

Normal Vegeta has a unique command grab, the only non-super move that is capable of comboing from a sliding knockdown. While Vegeta is able to combo after the grab himself, he cannot use assists with the grab to extend combos. His deadly knee drop appears to work similar to Adult Gohan’s ultimate back attack, teleporting above the enemy for an overhead attack. Base Vegeta’s assist is the energy cutter, a destructo disk style projectile.

Dragon Ball FighterZ’s newest downloadable characters will be released on Aug. 8. Cooler was announced as the next DLC character at Evo 2018, but his release date has not been confirmed. The eighth and final character included in the DBFZ Season Pass is rumored to be Android 17; prior leaks confirmed the other seven in advance.
