History Behind the Warrior delves into the life and undeath of the dread pirate Cervantes

One of the characters inadvertently revealed for SoulCalibur VI at Melbourne Esports Open was none other than Cervantes de Leon. The dread pirate was (and still is) a fan favorite, and his accidental reveal had many longtime fans rejoicing.

While he’s a familiar face to SoulCalibur veterans, some of those who may not have followed the series may wonder just Cervantes is such an important character. That and more that is covered in this latest episode of History Behind the Warrior.

The video below covers Cervantes history within the series, starting as the main antagonist of the original Soul Edge (Soul Blade in the USA), and talks about why he remains a continuing threat — something few other bosses in the series (aside from Nightmare) have been able to do.

Bless Online’s Rift of Space & Time Goes Live

Bless Online has been updated with The Rift of Space & Time that brings players two new level 45 activities to participate in. The Rift of Space & Time is a “horde-mode” instance where players face off against increasing numbers of enemies who also become increasingly strong. In addition, the Random Dungeon feature in the Dungeon Finder is now active that “allows level 45 players to earn additional rewards for defeating the final boss”.

Chang breaks free in the latest The King of Fighters XIV combo video from Persona Entertainment

Despite the fact that The King of Fighters is a series known for its long combos — particularly its recent entries — this was never the most recognizable feature of series big man Chang Koehan. This powerful grappler trades long combos for long range, brutal  single hits and, of course, that grab.

Still, that doesn’t mean he can’t pop Max Mode and make you regret getting touched. Persona Entertainment continues their long project of pushing the combo possibilities of every character in The King of Fighters XIV, and as evidenced by the loops and cross-unders above, Chang can be a combo video monster just like any other KOF character.

Lethal League: Blaze tournament to be held at “Firstlook Festival” in the Netherlands

The original Lethal League was a huge success, selling 100,000 units in its first sixth months and capturing the hearts of players in and out of the FGC. Now, developers Team Reptile are taking the demo of its sequel — Lethal League: Blaze — to live events for testing. If you want to be among the first people to try out this sports/fighting hybrid (and their amazing new cop character Nitro), you now have a destination: the Firstlook Festival in the Netherlands, October 6th-7th.

If you want to give feedback on Blaze, this is currently one of your best chances to do so before its release — Lethal League: Blaze is set to launch on PC in the 4th Quarter of 2018.
