World of Warcraft – Five Things You Won’t See in v8.1 in December

Blizzard is getting prepared to launch v8.1 “Tides of Vengeance” into World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. While players will find a lot of content in the first part of 8.1, many may also be expecting the usual raids, dungeons, higher iLevel loot and more, they may be disappointed to find that many of the “big ticket” items from 8.1 won’t actually be launching on December 11th.

Law Firm Investigating Bethesda & Fallout 76 for Possible ‘Deceptive Trade Practices’

A Washington D.C.-based law firm called Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is reportedly investigating Bethesda for “deceptive trade practices”. The firm is heavily vested in consumer protection law as evidenced by case studies in civil rights, environmental contamination, and unfair and deceptive trade practices. The investigation into Bethesda is based on players seemingly being unable to receive refunds for their purchases and for “releasing a heavily-glitched game”.

Red Dead Online Rumored to Feature a Battle Royale-like Game Mode

Rumors about Red Dead Online have leaked ahead of the start of beta testing today. According to Twitter user “Illogical Mods”, the Make It Count game mode will pit 32 players fighting to be the last one standing in typical battle royale style with a shrinking map and a limited number of weapons. The leak also includes details about several other game modes.

Artifact Comic Series Will Have an Effect on the DOTA 2 Story & World

When Valve’s Artifact launches on Steam this week, it will be accompanied by a new comic series. The first issue, “Prelude”, is already out and according to the dev team, will have an impact on the story in DOTA 2 given the shared universe between the two games. “Artifact is more than just a Dota card game — it is a shared universe with a storyline that will deepen the history, expand the world and change the fates of the heroes of both games,” the site reads.

Fortnite Player Count Rumored to Have Grown 60% Since June

According to an unsubstantiated report at Bloomberg, Fortnite player numbers are up 60% since June. The article claims that player numbers sit at about 200M, up from the last official player count of 125M in June and “almost equal to the population of Brazil”. The caveat in all this, of course, is that Bloomberg does not provide a source for these numbers and there doesn’t appear to be any information released from Epic itself.

SoulCalibur VI’s Maxi melts life bars in this Double Dragon-themed combo video

Maxi isn’t one of the more well-represented characters in the zoning-heavy meta of SoulCalibur VI right now. That’s probably a shame because, as LegendaryWolf Shirou shows off for roughly 8 minutes, this character has a variety of high-damage, flashy combos.

Whether at the wall, off a guard crush, or just from a correct loop guess, Maxi can turn some surprising situations into round-stealers. He’s also one of the very few characters in the game that can land multiple CE’s in one combo, thanks to his ability to modify the initial hit into a  juggle state.
