Everyone has a fighting chance
Earlier this week I had the opportunity to play the first few hours of Anthem, the demo content (which is available for Origin or EA Access members on Friday), and to talk to the Executive Director for Anthem Mark Darrah. There’s been an absolute glut of information from BioWare over the last few months, so this was a great chance to clear up some of the remaining questions and get a solid impression of what the core gameplay is like.
Atlas came on the scene recently as one of the wildest MMO stories in years. Out of nowhere ARK creators launched their MMO which had pirates, islands, and all kinds of crazy technology for players to battle it out. However the communities are forming up on either side in a warfare that looks similar to EVE Online.
The Necromancer is the best sounding part of the new Elder Scrolls Online chapter, Elsweyr. That’s just my opinion, but I’m a sucker for new classes, and the Necro is being treated with care and attention as one of the game’s most requested classes since it launched years ago.
NCSoft has announced that Aion: Legions of War is now available for both iOS and Android mobile devices. The game is set in the same universe as the Aion MMO and challenges players to “assemble the best team to fight in PvE dungeons or in PvP arenas”. There are over 100 heroes for players to collect that can be uniquely customized through equipment and by selecting one of five different elemental affinities. “It also has a narrative story that takes players on an epic journey”.

The Anthem VIP beta test will kick off on Friday, January 25th at 9:00 am Pacific / 12:00 pm Eastern and will run through January 27th at 6:00 pm Pacific / 9:00 pm Eastern.

Anthem’s Lead Producer Mike Gamble has announced that the team has added a new feature to the game called “Launch Bay”. In effect, Launch Bay is a multiplayer hub for up to sixteen players. “Hang out with your friends, use the forge, reload and grab a new contract.” Gamble wrote. He further stated that this feature was added based on community feedback.
