Blue Potion Games has officially named the first mobile title based on the Echo of Soul MMO. First simply called “Echo of Soul Mobile”, the game is now known as Echo of Soul RED. There are plans for a media event later this year that will provide more details about the upcoming game. We do know it will emphasize PvE action through dungeons and will introduce a PK system and a robust economy.
From May 6th to May 13th, Guild Wars 2 players can take part in a World Boss Beatdown event. Those taking part will be able to earn a Bonus Box of Goods for every one taken down. These can contain “especially shiny items like cosmetic infusions and invisible footwear”. The community will be informed “when one of the loathsome creatures is active near you” in order to get groups together to “swoop in and smack it down”.
Frontier has kicked off a new type of activity for Elite: Dangerous players called Interstellar Initiatives. These periodic events will feature narrative arcs that will play out across several phases and that have the potential to alter the galaxy permanently. The first of these events is called “Bridging the Gap”.
Jagex has achieved its fourth record-breaking year in a row with revenue growing over 9% and profits rising 3.8%. According to the press announcement, the record results were achieved due to “the RuneScape franchise achieving its highest ever paid membership total and Old School RunesCape’s launch on iOS and Android”.
Neocraft has announced that its mobile MMO, Tales of Wind, has launched for iOS and Android devices. The game ships with four classes, each of which can progress through two advanced sub-classes. The game includes dungeons, PvE / PvP and GvG systems and a number of casual games such as racing, shooting, quizzes and more.
MU Legend has received a new content expansion. Called Gates of Glory, the expansion brings a number of new features into the game including the Black Phantom class, a powerful female mage that is a specialist in AoE damage.
Black Desert Online players will have the opportunity to unleash Doom if they can awaken a Tier 8 Level 30 courser using the Krogdalo’s Origin Stone. Doom is a fiery Dream Horse featuring a Dark Sprint that leaves a trail of fire as it gallops through the world and can burn enemies on the field of battle. To help players earn Doom, players can leverage the 100% EXP boost for mount/training. This boost begins today and runs through May 15th.

Today’s a big day for Mordhau as the KickStarter funded “first and third person multiplayer slasher” has officially launched on Steam. In celebration of the launch, Mordhau is 10% off at $26.99. The launch hasn’t gone without its issues, but the team is keeping the community apprised of what is being done. For instance, matchmaking modes that should feature 64 players have been temporarily scaled down to 48. The Final Fantasy XIV site has been updated with a new blog post to show off some of the fantastic concept art created for the Return to Ivalice alliance raid series. The works were all created by Keita Amemiya, the Executive Director of the GARO series. The post is filled with both black and white and full color designs.
