Conan Exiles Latest DLC Pays Tribute to Schwarzenegger’s Movie Role

Funcom will be running a Steam Free Weekend for Conan Exiles that will also feature the launch of the next DLC for the game. The Riddle of Steel DLC will pay tribute to the 1982 movie debut of “Conan the Barbarian” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Riddle of Steel update is $6.99 and includes “several unique statues and figurines of Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan” as well as helmets that hearken back to the movie, commemorative warpaint and other decorative items.

New World to End 24/7 Alpha Testing on June 3rd

The New World site has been updated with a brief note from the development team to inform current alpha testers that the ongoing 24/7 testing phase will be coming to a close on June 3rd. This will provide the developers with the opportunity to implement major new features in response to player feedback since launching alpha testing in September 2018. “Since these features are large in scope and create changes to the world that could be disruptive, we will end this phase of Alpha testing”.

Apex Legends Headed to Mobile & to China as EA’s Fastest Growing New Game Ever

During yesterday’s EA investors’ call, the company revealed that Apex Legends is its fastest growing new game ever. In addition, EA stated that 30% of the game’s players are new to EA and that it is “working aggressively to bring the game to more players in more markets and platforms around the world”. Those plans include release in China and for mobile devices.

Overwatch ‘Havana’ Escort Map is Now Live

Blizzard has pushed out the latest map for Overwatch. The Havana map is based on the recent Archives event that takes players to “the heart of Cuba”. Players will participate in an escort mission through “the old colonial fortifications and fight through the colorful streets of the iconic coastal city”.

Tencent Shutters PUBG Mobile in China & Releases ‘Game for Peace’ Battle Royale In Its Place

Tencent has shuttered the closed beta for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile in China, though the news isn’t all gloom and doom. Players can transfer their accounts to Game for Peace that “pays tribute to the blue sky warriors that guard our country’s airspace”. Game for Peace has been developed specifically to get through China’s strict games vetting process by scaling down violence, removing most blood effects and defeated players rising “to wave goodbye”.
