At the recently concluded Frosty Faustings VII, Iron Galaxy Studios’ Adam “Keits” Heart and Isaac “Delriach” Torres hosted a special on-stream demonstration of Killer Instinct’s newest character, Omen. During the exhibition, they invited select players to play the Herald of Gargos against one of their own testers, who would donate money to the prize pool if they were beaten.
In addition to the challenge stated above, Keits and Delriach discuss some specifics about Omen and the way people are playing it at the moment. They also talk to some of the players who tried out the character to discuss their impressions.

Some time back, we posted a Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- combo video shared with us by FINAL SHOWDOWN, featuring combos for series protagonist Sol Badguy. Now, he’s returned with another great helping of his findings.
Most of the combos in the video below are things that didn’t make the cut for the first combo video. That said, that doesn’t make them any less impressive. Check it out and let us know what you think.
Last Thursday, Koei Tecmo Europe held a special preview stream for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round. This broadcast showcased what the new update will bring to the table, including gameplay footage of newcomer Honoka as well as a few of the fan-designed costumes.

Skullgirls Encore’s latest downloadable character, Beowulf, is slowly but surely nearing completion. To help give those who haven’t had a chance to try him out in the Endless Beta, mhardle has put together this new combo video to show what he is capable of.
Beowulf brings with him a couple of unique mechanics. First up is a his grab mode, which allows him to grab his opponent and set up one of many different grab finishers that can then lead into different combo extensions. The second is his ability to build crowd hype. By building up to three levels of excitement, Beowulf gains access to new options out of his existing moveset.
Combo video prodigy Desk has returned with a new combo video for Ultra Street Fighter IV. This time out, he focuses on Juri with a video that showcases just how crazy she can be in Omega Mode.
The video below showcases a plethora of combos. However, the highlights of this have to be a couple of long Feng Shui Engine combos, one of which reaches 50 hits, the other doing a massive 61 hits!
Today, when you think “Justice League fighting game”, you think Injustice: Gods Among Us, and when you think “fighting game by Double Helix Games,” you think of the Killer Instinct reboot for Xbox One (more specifically, the first season). But what if that wasn’t the case? What if instead of NetherRealm, Double Helix got the chance to make a fighting game based on DC Comics properties? The funny thing is, this actually almost happened.
Sometime around 2010, Double Helix was hard at work on a Justice League fighting game for previous-generation consoles. This title was supposedly a tie-in to the Justice League movie helmed by Australian director George Miller (Mad Max, Happy Feet) that never surfaced. This, combined with the fact that DC Comics’ parent company eventually bought what was left of Midway Games to form their own fighting game developer – NetherRealm Studios – meant that the game never saw the light of day.
That said, footage of the game does actually exist. The fine folks over at Past to Present Online, the same guys that shared with us footage of the early Xbox 360 builds of Killer Instinct, have been able to get their hands on a prototype, gameplay of which you can watch below.
The game itself plays quite differently from either Injustice or Killer Instinct. Instead, the game is a free-roaming 3D fighter similar to Power Stone or even the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm and Gundam Vs. games. Additionally, it seems to respect the characters power levers better than other games, with Superman easily shrugging off Batman’s blows while floating in the air.
Poor DeeJay, even after a few tweaks, this original rasta is still considered one of the worst characters in Ultra Street Fighter IV. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have a few tricks up his sleeve however.
In his latest video, Bafael demonstrates some tricks that struggling DeeJay players can use to land his Ultra 1. In addition to this, he also demonstrates how DeeJay can do big damage with some combos.

While NetherRealm Studios head honcho Ed Boon has been busy sharing hints about new cast member for Mortal Kombat X, it seems that the latest bits of information about the cast may have come from an entirely different source.
Multiple sources, including Mortal Kombat communities Test Your Might and Mortal Kombat Online, have reported that the a recent promo video being played in GameStop stores may reveal that classic characters Mileena and Shang Tsung will be a part of the playable cast.
In the video, the narrator can be heard mentioning the names of both characters alongside Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and the recently confirmed Kitana.
Of course, this could simply be an error on GameStop’s part, but retailers do sometimes get information on games in advance before they’re revealed to the public, as was the case with Injustice: Gods Among Us’ Doomsday.
Whether or not this is a confirmation for both characters, we’ll have to wait for official word in the coming months.
Mortal Kombat X is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on April 14.
Persona is back with another combo video for Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. This time, he focuses on everybody’s favorite runaway bride, Elphelt Valentine.
A character with a somewhat limited moveset yet high combo potential thanks to her grenades and shotgun stance, Elphelt requires some serious muscle memory to get the most out off. The tricky parts involve learning how to time the grenade blasts and quickly reloading after each shotgun blast to extend her stuff.

Canada Cup’s Masters Series showcased some of the toughest Ultra Street Fighter IV competition we’ve seen so far this year. While the event featured past champions from previous Canada Cups tournaments, Canada Cup Gaming also held a last chance qualifier to allow players one more chance to make it into the high-profile event.
Replays from this pre-tournament have recently found their way online, giving us some great footage of eventual champion PR Balrog of Evil Geniuses, Canada Cup Gaming’s Air, and others vie for a spot in the main bracket. Both of the aforementioned players pulled out relatively new characters, with the former trying his Evil Ryu on for size and the latter choosing to stick with Poison through much of the competition.
