While Yun is considered by many to be the best character in Ultra Street Fighter IV, some folks tend to forget that his brother Yang also received a good number of buffs. While he was considered to have been “over-nerfed” in the previous version of the game, in Ultra, Yang is now once again a threat in the hands of the right players.

One such player is ShiiNe of FNEX, who is the subject of the latest edition of Olympic Gaming’s Spotlight series. In the footage provided, Olympic highlights some of ShiiNe’s matches using Yang (as well as his Gouken) against players such as Wolfkrone, Tampa Bison, TBR Sensei, and more.

In addition to this, Olympic Gaming also did a short interview with ShiiNe which you can find in the video’s description. In it, ShiiNe discusses his history with the game, why he switched from pad to stick, where his handle comes from, and more.

Super Smash Bros. Melee is one of those classic games that continues to be played even as newer versions come and go. Even with a more recent installment gaining steam, the Gamecube title still attracted a sizable number of competitors at The Fall Classic 2014.

One of the things that few people know about Yun in Ultra Street Fighter IV is that when he chains into a standing or crouching short kick, he can kara-cancel the startup of that kick into his Zenpou Tenshin side-switch command grab. Originally discovered by long time Street Fighter veteran Ed Ma, it allows Yun to pressure opponents and then get the command grab just like Zangief or ver. 2012 Fei Long.

JD recently put together a video showing off how players can take advantage of this useful technique as the first entry of his new “Yun Cheap Stuff” series. In the footage below, he demonstrates how to pull this off from both chained standing and crouched shorts. Take note that the latter, while better against players who mash up-back to jump, is easier to spam out of unless Yun uses meter for an EX Zenpou Tenshin.

After having shown off some useful strategies for Fire Emblem’s Lucina, the folks behind Smash and Grab are back with another Super Smash Bros. for 3DS character breakdown. This time, AG|Arc and Origin take on Zero Suit Samus, covering a few things people coming into the game should know about her.

The video below touches on a good number of tips and tricks, including which of her moves can kill at which damage percentage values. It also provides a look at her basic combos and neutral game.

While Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- isn’t out on home consoles yet, that hasn’t stopped players from using the PlayStation 4 demo to try and figure out some tricks. On such player is VrRaiden, who recently shared this video showing how you can Yellow Roman Cancel the startup of Sol’s Dragon Install in a variety of situations.

For those not familiar with Xrd’s mechanics, players can Roman Cancel out of the starting frames of a move in the game, resulting in a “Yellow” colored Roman Cancel that only takes 25% of their meter.

What’s interesting, however, is that Dragon Install has invincibility frames right at the start, even before the super flash. By canceling it beforehand, players can take advantage of the invincibility and consume less meter in the process.

As detailed in VrRaiden’s video below, this can lead to some interesting setups.

Without a doubt, one of the most hype matches at Evo 2014 was the Super Smash Bros. Melee top eight bout between Mortality’s Axe and Silentwolf of GameClucks. In it, the former was able to “four stock” the latter, a term used by the Smash community so signify a player’s ability to defeat their opponent without losing any of their own lives.

And if that wasn’t enough, Axe’s Pikachu took down Silentwolf’s Fox in less than a minute.

Interestingly enough, Axe doesn’t consider this match as representing him at his best. Rather, he attributes his performance to making some good calls at crucial moments in the match.

Out of all the characters in the new Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS, Mario is arguably the most iconic thanks to his longstanding position as Nintendo’s flagship character. For those interested in how he plays in the game, Brawl Karter has put together this highlight video with the plucky plumber.

The video showcases a number of matches with Mario, comprised mostly of highlights that provide a look at some practical combos used in actual competition. Much of the footage revolves around use of the hero’s improved F.L.U.D.D. special, the increased range of which Mario can now control to push his opponents around even more.

In addition to keeping enemies from the stage, it also serves as a useful way to set up combos, return to solid ground, and more. Check out the video below and see if you can add anything to your own skillset.

The Fall Classic’s Persona 4 Arena Ultimax tournament represented one of the game’s earliest North American showings and, as such, allowed many top players to demonstrate their skills on a large stage for the fist time.

The brackets included a number of notable names, but at the end of the day it came down to two competitors: Team Spooky’s Lord Knight, who was looking to defend his reputation as America’s best competitive Persona player, and Sonic Fox of Revolution, who already has an impressive number of wins in other games under his belt.

Both players came into the last match playing two characters who weren’t included in the original roster, Lord Knight choosing Margaret and Sonic Fox rocking Marie.
