Tonight, Twitch’s Mike Ross will be putting on yet another installment of Capcom Pro Talk, a live show dedicated to discussing recent community happenings, playing Street Fighter, and more.
This installment will feature a special appearance by Evil Geniuses’ Kenneth “KBrad” Bradely, who is scheduled to join Ross to talk about Capcom Pro Tour and duke it out in some Ultra Street Fighter IV matches.

The folks over at VG BootCamp recently went live with another installment of Smash @ Xanadu from Xanadu Games in Baltimore, Maryland. These weekly broadcasts provide a great look at the region’s Smash community, with tonight’s stream focusing entirely on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

NorCal Regionals, typically hyper-focused on Capcom games like Ultra Street Fighter IV and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, has once again allowed the community to decide which games will also be included in the official lineup for this year’s event. While a title needed only eight entrants to be considered, the recent March 15 deadline gave us a clear picture of which scenes will be showing up to Sacramento to compete and which will not.
According to an email being sent out to registrants, Skullgirls, Street Fighter x Tekken, Divekick, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, Soulcalibur V, Soulcalibur II, and Capcom vs. SNK 2 did not receive enough participants to keep a spot in the roster.
These results show a continuing decline in 3D representation outside of particular regions, but perhaps the most surprising is the absence of interest in perennial favorite Capcom vs. SNK 2.
Fortunately, it’s not all bad news! Fans of King of Fighters XIII, Killer Instinct, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and BlazBlue: Chronophantasma will be joining the aforementioned Capcom games as well as Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U in the weekend’s lineup.
NorCal Regionals 2015 is scheduled for April 3-5 in Sacramento, California. Registration for this event will be open until March 27, so be sure to visit the official website for more details.

We all know what it’s like when you first decide to put effort into learning a fighting game. The endless hours of training mode practice, slogging through quarters at the arcade (or, more recently, putting up with the frustration of netplay), poring over information in your head frantically during a match–there’s a lot to remember during this early learning process.
In order to help folks who find themselves in the lower levels of fighting game competition, French group Les Super Madbros put together a great video of quick tips to keep in mind while you level up your game. Though many of these short lessons may seem obvious (block more, stop jumping, etc.), they are invaluable pieces of a larger mindset necessary to playing these titles at a decent level.

With Mortal Kombat X’s release just under a month away, information recently leaked online regarding what kinds of achievements it will offer to people who love to boost numbers that don’t really mean anything. While these are all well and good, they don’t really tell us anything…until you look at their corresponding images, that is.
Screenshots attached to these achievements unveil a number of juicy morsels, including confirmation that Jax Briggs and newcomer Erron Black and will be playable in the upcoming title, our first in-game looks at characters like Goro and Shinnok, and some glimpses of possible alternate costumes.
We’ve included all of the pertinent images below, so if you are worried about getting caught up in any more spoilers, stop reading here. Of course, as this is a Mortal Kombat game, you can also expect some blood; be wary if you are bothered by such things.

Tonight, the folks behind Canada Cup have announced that the tournament series’ 2015 installment will take place October 30 through November 1.
While the event went through a rough patch last year, Canada Cup Gaming eventually rebounded with a mainline tournament as well as an invitational that saw previous years’ champions return to the country for a special high-stakes exhibition.
As part of this year’s Capcom Pro Tour, Canada Cup 2015 will enjoy premier tournament status, meaning its first-place finisher in Ultra Street Fighter IV will automatically qualify for Capcom Cup 2015, as well as a $15,000 bonus to the game’s overall prize pool. Other finalists will also be rewarded with a higher tier of points, helping their chances of qualifying through the ranking system.
Canada Cup 2015 will be hosted at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center in Toronto, Ontario. More details regarding registration and other official games is still forthcoming.

UMD Smash recently went live with another installment of their Monday tournament series, featuring some of the region’s best players in this unique Super Smash Bros. Brawl mod.

Triox has recently become a fantastic resource for Street Fighter IV players to up their Juri game, and this weekend he released yet another video to aid aspiring mains of the Korean villain.
This demonstration covers a handful of setups that allow Juri to fake out Cammy players and force them to block the wrong way while trapped in the corner. Of course, the Killer Bee can escape these setups thanks to her lengthy list of options, but Triox covers those avenues with option selects than can help dole out even more punishment.
