Earlier today, Desk’s latest series of Ultra Street Fighter IV combo videos began with Ultra Combos Red, another ridiculous look at the technology the execution master has come up with for the title during its early lifespan.
Starting with an oddly rhythmic Akuma string, Ultra Combos Red continues on to showcase destructive attack combinations that incorporate all the tight links, Red Focus applications, glitches, and, yes, Ultras that you would expect from a Desk video.
If you’re still left wanting more, stay tuned for Desk’s Ultra Combos Blue follow-up and the highly-anticipated Playing Street Fighter 2.
Earlier this morning, Nintendo released another patch for the handheld version of Super Smash Bros. 4 that brings the title up to the same designation. Much like the previous update, which dropped right before the North American launch, this one features balance adjustments that make for “a more pleasant gaming experience.”
Players have been scrambling to figure out what, if anything, was changed in this patch. Little concrete information has been uncovered at this point in time, so stay tuned for future findings.
Note that you will need to have this update applied to your game before you are able to partake in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS’ various online modes. Instructions on how to download and install this patch can be found here.

Ultra Street Fighter IV’s upcoming Omega Mode add-on is gaining a lot of attention, and for good reason. This new edition of the long-running series grants each fighter a bevy of new gameplay options, many pulled from past incarnations, providing players a uniquely entertaining experience outside the normal, built-for-competition Street Fighter IV.
Earlier this weekend, Capcom’s Tomoaki Ayano shared Omega breakdowns for a handful of fighters, a Saikyo Blog write-up that he then followed with a live presentation from the venue of Capcom Pro Tour Asia’s finals, GameStart 2014, last night.
While many of these changes were described in the aforementioned blog (and some have even been showcased in the various exhibition matches held since the mode was announced), each of the original eight world warriors was given a solo spotlight to show off a new combo or tactic that will be available to them during the presentation.
If you missed out on the live broadcast, you’ll find an archive below. Ayano’s Omega Mode segment begins around 5:46:54.
Last night, Capcom divulged their plans to fix a brand new Ultra Street Fighter IV glitch that was uncovered after the ver.1.03 patch landed online, but it appears they may have a bit more work on their hands.
TechnicalCakeMix recently released a brand new video that shows off what he believes to be another bug. In the demonstration, Sagat is unable to land any attacks–normals, specials, super, ultra…anything–against Vega in training mode. It’s worth pointing out that, as he is unsure how this all came about and hasn’t been able to replicate it, there’s definitely a possibility that this isn’t a widespread issue, either throughout the rest of the game’s modes or with the entire cast.
So, any thoughts? Let us know if you’ve run into this issue before and any ideas you may have as to what caused it in the comments.
Despite correcting numerous issues from a previous update, the ver.1.03 patch that was applied to Ultra Street Fighter IV earlier this month has unfortunately created a new issue involving Vega spread across PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Steam.
Capcom’s Peter “Combofiend” Rosas recently brought this bug to light in a new Capcom-Unity blog post, detailing exactly what happens, what can be done to fix it on the fly, and their plans moving forward.
According to Rosas, the glitch works like this: should an opponent trade hits with Vega in the air during the Rolling Izuna Drop follow-up to his Flying Barcelona Special super, they may become frozen in mid-air–some instances may even see Vega become stuck as well. You’ll find a demonstration of the bug below, courtesy of owasoku.
While there are ways around this, either by simply attacking the frozen character, returning your offline console to the home menu, or waiting for an online match’s timer to run out, it’s certainly a frustrating scenario that they are in the process of fixing. Fortunately, they have already found what causes the issue, but working out the kinks will take a bit of time.
Capcom plans to have a correction to this bug released by the end of the year, and will be providing periodic updates between now and its launch.
During the first day of Capcom Pro Tour Asia’s finals event at GameStart 2014, Capcom revealed an early look at a brand new costume pack they have in store for Ultra Street Fighter IV.
While the previous collection focused on summer appropriate outfits for the extensive cast, this time around your favorite characters will be getting a bit more primal with animal-based alternates. You’ll find the preview below, which includes concept sketches for Dudley, Ryu, Gen, Hakan, and Cammy.
Which animals do you think the remaining fighters will represent in this costume pack? Feel free to let us know in the comments below.
After four separate qualifiers in China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore, Capcom Pro Tour Asia’s grand finals event is set to crown a champion at GameStart 2014. It’s been a long road, but only one player out of the eight strong competitors will be guaranteed a spot at Capcom Cup in December.
RZR|Xian, RZR|Gackt, MCZ|Daigo Umehara, AVM|GamerBee, Leslie, CCG|Humanbomb, Poongko, and Jiewa will face off in a grueling round-robin format, giving each player a chance to match up against their fellow competitors and see what they are made of in Ultra Street Fighter IV.

In order to capitalize off collectors, Arc System Works will be providing a dozen different bonuses to the same number of Japanese retailers for them to give away with Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- when it releases in December. These range from items like large pieces of tapestry art and posters to clear files and mousepads.
ArcSys recently updated Xrd’s official website with all the details, which also gives us a great look at some of the amazing art that will adorn these bonuses. While there’s very little chance of these reaching western shores, those of you well-versed in the process of importing purchases from Japan may want to check it out.
And for the rest of us, well…the art is really nice.
In addition to the shops below, Joshin and Stellaworth will be offering a smartphone wallpaper and bromide set, respectively, but previews have yet to be provided.
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will arrive in Japan on December 4, with a North American release planned for December 16.
The time has come once again to give some love to older fighting games, the titles that got many of us interested in the genre to begin with, via another installment of Arturo Sanchez’ 2 Old 2 Furious tournament series.
This event, subtitled 2 Dead 2 Furious, will feature competition in a wide variety of classics, including Capcom vs. SNK 2, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter EX2 Plus, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo. As always, some of the east coast’s best competitors will be in attendance at Next Level Arcade to show they still have what it takes to throw down in these games of yesteryear.
