It may not be common knowledge, but Donkey Kong Country 2 protagonist Dixie Kong was apparently slated to appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl alongside her significant other Diddy Kong. Instead of separate characters, they would work as a pair, similar to the way Pokémon Trainer was able to switch between three fighters during battle.

Unfortunately, the young chimpanzee was scrapped, relegated to a Smash career as a trophy and alternate color.

Similar to past videos, the Smashified crew has taken it upon themselves to imagine what she may look like in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Taking cues from her previous appearances and Diddy’s own transition to the latest iteration, they ended up with a pretty good representation for the fan favorite.

The folks behind Churning the Butter have just gone live with a special Wednesday installment of their weekly tournament series, once again taking over Folsom Street Foundry in San Francisco, California to host Ultra Street Fighter IV for local players.

Some of the competitors you can expect to see tonight include EG|Ricki Ortiz, pH|LPN, Julio, DM|El Cubano Loco, and more.

Every week, the folks at WinnerStaysOn partner with Capcom UK to put on special sessions of Street Fighter competition. While in the past they’ve feature a variety of Ultra Street Fighter IV matches, the last few installments have skewed towards Street Fighter V gameplay, typically with newer builds and characters.

Their latest episode was, of course, dedicated entirely to Capcom’s flagship fighting franchise, but focused on both the new and old.

Fresh off his appearances at Call of Ragnarok and EGX, Japan’s Gonzalez was in town to pit his Seth against the usual European talent in attendance. During his visit, he played first-to-five exhibitions against folks like Isam, Afii, and Problem X, giving us a great look at his take on the chaotic antagonist.

But those of you ready to move onto Street Fighter V should definitely give this video some of your attention as well. Karin, the Street Fighter Alpha 3 veteran who has reappeared on the scene after many years away, receives a ton of the spotlight, and the last 45 minutes are spent going over her skills and mirror matching for those of you interested in what she’s capable of in the upcoming title.

The last few weeks have been a flurry of Ultra Street Fighter IV competition as we near the end of the Capcom Pro Tour, and the folks in Kuwait provided quite a show this past weekend during KO Fighting Game Festival 2015. The local Middle Eastern talent has proven themselves a community to be reckoned with at past events, but the lure of an automatic Capcom Cup qualifier brought the visiting competitors out in full force.

Despite appearances by Razer trio Xian, Fuudo, and Itabashi; -R-, Super Santarou Man, KichijojiKEN, and Dashio of YUBIKEN; and even Falcon Arena’s Ryan Hart, regional players were still able to make their mark on the event. Latif, perhaps best known as the Evo 2011 runner-up, was able to crack the top three, while Kuwait’s own Ganoon and Nox of the United Arab Emirates closed the tournament out at fifth and seventh place, respectively.
