Earlier this week EVE Online announced that the long-running space MMO was going to be playable in a browser window, bringing the game to players in a new way. While still in Beta, I checked out the experience this week and came away pretty impressed, at least when it worked.
It looks like BioWare is getting in on the battle pass action, by adding a system to their MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic. The system, called Galactic Seasons, effectively operates much like battle passes in other games, with two tiers for players to potentially unlock while they play.
Rare’s pirate adventure game, Sea of Thieves, has hit a rather impressive milestone. The studio announced today via Twitter that in three years since it launched on Xbox One and PC, Sea of Thieves has seen 20 million pirates set sail.
During today’s Spring 2021 Showcase, Square Enix pulled the veil back ever so slightly on Project Athia, revealing the lead actor performing the mocap and voice acting for Frey, as well as the official title of the upcoming game. Project Athia is officially revealed to be called Forspoken, and will be coming in 2022.

We sat down in a play session with the Magic: Legends team to check out the ARPG in action ahead of next week’s beta test.

The newest class for Black Desert Online Remastered has launched today on PC, bringing the Sage class to the world. This caster-type class brings its ancient weapon, the cube-shaped Kyve, to Black Desert, smiting foes from afar.
The Lord of the Rings Online’s latest update, called Wildwood, has now launched. This update brings with it a bevy of additions, including a new zone, instances, quests, the Spring Festival as well as some updates to how the game engine handles its lighting.
