Before we get started, yes, the featured image is a pixelated rendering of Mark “MarkMan” Julio catching some sick air in front of a Mad Catz banner. Now that that’s out of the way, we can move on:

There’s a good chance that plenty of us wouldn’t mind taking a shot Team Mad Catz’ Daigo Umehara, Mago and Tokido, but that isn’t the sort of thing that just, you know, happens. There’s always some sort of lead-in, be it climbing through tournament brackets or locating them in a situation of dubious monetary exchange and being willing to wait in line and (almost certainly) part with our own cash at the end of the ordeal.

But there’s now another way. While it may not be the same as taking them on in Street Fighter, it appears that, thanks to a mobile game designed for GameStart 2015, we can fight their simulacra in the form of boss characters. You do so by playing as MarkMan, which you may have already guessed by now, who happily chucks objects both arcade sticks and sneakers at the fighting game gods until he’s the only one standing, no doubt rocking some of the shoes that weren’t needed as ammunition.

Oh, and, if that wasn’t enough, you can also play as Razer’s Xian.

Fighting against Vega in Ultra Street Fighter IV can be a hassle, especially if you’ve just got a lousy pair of blue boxing gloves to put up against his forearm-length claw. But even if you’re capable of dealing with his long reach, there’s still the issue of his mix-up options to consider if you plan on actually leaving the ring with a victory.

Thanks to a new video from Gillstolemyride, Dudley players now have at least a fighting chance against Vega when he takes to the air. These options make use of a jab dragon punch directly after blocking the first hit of EX Flying Barcelona Attack, which then allows Dudley enough time to buffer in some inputs and cover nearly every variable that the masked marauder has on his way back to the ground.

Gillstolemyride also covers some situations in which Dudley can punish Vega with a raw Ultra 1, which drives home the importance of bringing Ultra Combo Double to this match.

The latest version of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS went live at the end of last month, bringing with it some changes to core system mechanics like shield stun as well as minor character adjustments and downloadable content. At the time of release, data miners were able to figure out most of the changes rather quickly, and compiled these changes on Smash Boards.

For all the good that text-based patch notes do, sometimes it’s just easier to see things worked out visually. In a three part series, which we’ve included below, Vitamin ZK breaks down everything that Smashers will need to know going forward in ver.1.1.1.

Please note that a subsequent ver.1.1.2 patch was released shortly after this update in order to address a glaring Diddy Kong glitch, but everything in the videos above should otherwise still be intact.

During last night’s session, the folks at WinnerStaysOn were able to sit down with the latest build of Street Fighter V and get some hands-on experience with returning contender Zangief and newcomer Laura Matsuda.

Since both characters only recently made their way into a playable version of the game, the video begins with an extensive exploration of normal moves, special moves, and V-Skill and V-Trigger interactions, and should answer most questions that you have surrounding the basics of these two fighters.

The video isn’t just exploration, however, so expect to see plenty of grappler on grappler action in actual matches as their time with the upcoming game progresses.

Thanks to Pandora House’s LPN, we now have a slew of new Street Fighter V footage through which to analyze newcomer Laura Matsuda. These videos come to us in the form of a lengthy playlist recorded over the past weekend at SoCal Regionals 2015 and, as such, isn’t taken from a stream. When this is the case, the match clips we’re left with typically involve camera work on par with Cloverfield, but that thankfully isn’t the case here.

All of the matches that we’ve included below feature LPN at the helm of the game’s newest character, and since he’s got plenty of fighting experience under his belt, we can get a pretty good idea of how the Matsuda heiress approaches any given situation through his matches with folks like Fourwude and Gootecks.

The Street Fighter V exhibition matches between top players like QANBA’s Xiao Hai and Dakou, EG|PR Balrog, and WFX|801 Strider, among others, captivated attendees of last weekend’s SoCal Regionals tournament. Even with such high-level competition in the forthcoming title, the current version of Street Fighter IV still brought about plenty of hype of its own, showing that, even though this game is on the way out, it’s still the source of some of the best competitive fighting out there.

As one might expect, the Ultra Street Fighter IV top eight included talent from all over the world. With so much to sort through, picking the best five moments from this chunk of competition is no easy task, but Capcom did a great job encapsulating the event with the moments featured below, which include some of the best Russian sky protection that we’ve seen in quite some time thanks to Red Bull’s Snake Eyez.
