
Mobile Battle Royale – three words you don’t see too often on MMORPG. However, one of the most downloaded mobile games in the world, Free Fire, celebrates its 4th anniversary, and Mitch was able to check out the party – and the game itself.

This week the Indie MMO Spotlight brings you a baker’s dozen of delicious morsels to consume. Indie developers always seem to appreciate player feedback, and this week multiple developers wanted you to speak up. They also did a lot of talking about their inspiration and vision for their games. Oh, and we got some more information on upcoming alphas that you won’t want to miss.

The Alien franchise is full of hits and misses. The first two movies of the franchise? Hits. The third? Miss. The prequels and sequels since then have also been a mixed bag. And the video games based on the franchise follow suit. Aliens: Colonial Marines was some hot garbage, but that was followed up by Alien: Isolation which is considered one of the best games in the franchise. But how does Aliens: Fireteam Elite hold up?

With temperatures soaring as we enter the dog days of summer, there’s no better time than the present to check out some of the indie gems we have in this week’s Spotlight.

Godfall released last year on PlayStation 5 and PC, bringing a technical showcase to the new console, as well as the concept of a "looter slasher" from Counterplay Games. Now, with the Lightbringer update and the first expansion, Fire & Darkness, Mitch descends into the Fire Realm to put the new content through its paces.
