During last night’s Bethesda E3 press conference, the Elder Scrolls Online team spoke to their non-attendance at the convention but said they are hard at work on the recent console launch and on new content coming later this year. After Elder Scrolls Online went live for consoles yesterday, megaservers were burdened to the point of breaking log in for millions of players. According to a new post on the official site, those issues should be resolved.
It’s been a long but insanely productive year for Zenimax Online Studios. Elder Scrolls Online came out, held its own, but was a rather contentious title for such a widely adored franchise. Fast forward several months and ESO is now buy to play, rebranded as "Tamriel Unlimited", and quite frankly, it’s one of the best theme park MMORPGs on the market. And now it’s also on the PS4 and XBOX ONE. So, how does it play?
Now that The Elder Scrolls Online has launched for console, the virtual holding pattern that the game has been in for the past few months should hopefully be ending soon. These months did bring us some idea of the general direction of what to expect for the console versions, but for many of us PC players, things have been in a general lull since update 6 was released, with talk having shifted to the console audience.
Console players around the world can now log in and play Elder Scrolls Online now that launch day has officially arrived. Both XBox One and PlayStation 4 owners are invited to try out the game via respective download sites.

Yes, you’re reading that right, I canceled my ESO subscription last week. The Elder Scrolls Online is a great game and anyone who is thinking of purchasing it for the consoles when it releases on June 9th I would still recommend them to do so. There is no denying that ESO is easily worth its initial investment but I can’t say with confidence that it’s worth the continuous investment.

With just a couple of weeks left until the console version of Elder Scrolls Online arrives, Bethesda has revealed the digital preorders for both XBox One and PlayStation 4. Each is available in regular ($59.99) and digital collector’s ($79.99) editions.
