Frontier has released a 2022 roadmap for Elite Dangerous, and it includes new content plans, update cadence, and details on console profile transfers.

The launch of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey brought about some turmoil for the community surrounding the game, following months and months of bug fixes and tuning, the game returned to a normal state. With this return to normality, many players wonder, what are the most exciting ways to play Elite? Exploration, maybe?

With last year’s release of Elite Dangerous Odyssey, the space MMO has seen its fair share of issues. However, we turn our attention to the combat this time, as the addition of on-foot missions and action has added a new element to the MMO. How does it fare, especially compared to ship-based combat almost a year after its release?

Frontier has delayed the upcoming release of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey on console in order for the team to hunker down and get the PC version in a state that is acceptable to its team and the players. As such, no new date or timetable has been revealed for the console release, with CEO David Braben simply state that only when the PC experience is "solid" will the console roadmap be more clear moving forward.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey got off to a really rocky start, and the team at Frontier is working to ensure that the anticipated expansion is as stable and performant as possible in the wake of the launch. Today the team shared a bit of its roadmap for the next few patches as well as what they are doing to fix issues, as well as improving communication with the playerbase.

If you’re one of the many commanders who tried their hand at Elite Dangerous Odyssey last week when it launched just two weeks out of its Alpha, you’ve likely noticed it doesn’t have the same level of polish Frontier Developments has been known for. As such, CEO David Braben took to the Frontier forums to apologize "wholeheartedly."
