Everyone has a fighting chance
The EVE Online site has been updated with the news that the next content expansion, Into the Abyss, will be launching on Tuesday, May 29th. Players can expect a 30 minute downtime to deploy the patch starting at 3:00 am Pacific / 6:00 am Eastern. The expansion comes with new content to all areas of space as well as “stunning new environments that breathe new life and bring new content to all areas of space”.
The EVE Online site has been updated with a lengthy new blog to lay out some of the details about the change over and details regarding Faction Citadels coming on June 5th. All Outposts and Conquerable Stations will be converted to Upwell STructures at that time. The blog is designed to provide information to players about how to best prepare for the June 5th swap.
From today through May 15th, EVE Online players can take part in the game’s 15th anniversary celebration during Operation: Conscious Interruption. During the event, players will help defend Society of Conscious Thought facilities from the attacking Drifters and can receive the exclusive 15th Anniversary SKIN.
EVE Online Executive Producer Andie Nordgren has announced that she is leaving CCP and Iceland in order to return to Sweden to raise her children closer her family. She will be leaving the game and Iceland in June.
During the weekend’s EVE Fanfest 2018, CCP Games revealed that it would be taking the annual event on the road in 2019 for the first time in its history. Fanfest 2019 will take place in four locations: Amsterdam, Australia and in locations on the East and West coasts of the USA. And if THAT’S not enough to be excited about, EVE players can submit a video to convince CCP to hold Fanfest right in their living room with large scale events held in and around the winner’s city.
CCP Games has announced the next expansion for EVE Online. Called Into the Abyss, players can look for the new content in May 2018. According to developers, “Into the Abyss adds exciting exploration and survival gameplay in the form of Abyssal Deadspace, a brand new hostile environment filled with hazardous environmental effects and mysterious adversaries, the Triglavian Collective”.
CCP has partnered with Kongregate Partners and Playraven to bring EVE: War of Ascension, formerly known as Project Aurora, to iOS and Android devices later in 2018. The game is a free-to-play MMO set in the EVE universe. Players will work together to form alliances and corporations. EVE: War of Ascension is “designed to appeal to both the franchise’s fans as well as more casual players”.
EVE Online devs are inviting both new and veteran capsuleers to head into game to take part in the S.P.A.C.E. (Spaceship Pilot and Capsuleer Essentials) event that kicks off today and runs through April 17th. During the event, players can head to The Agency tab in their interface, choose from a number of activities including bounty hunting, mining and more. Once the objectives are complete, players will earn Agency points that eventually unlock rewards.

EVE Online has been updated to bring a new event into the game called “The Hunt”. During the event that runs from now through April 3rd, players are tasked with locating and wiping out Guristas installations to put “an end to their illegal cloning research”. Players will collect derelict capsules to turn in for rewards and to collect agency points by finishing off challenges for rewards such as a new module, Boosters, a special event SKIN and more.
