Cheers, Love! The Cammy Mod’s Here! Overwatch’s Tracer Comes to Street Fighter V

Mods are a fantastic element to PC games, and it’s a wonderful treat giving a favorite fighter a brand new outfit. Well, PC gamers are at it again. From the same person who brought us Q as everyone, Rashid as Flash, and SpiderGwen Cammy mods, Cammy gets a new skin in the form of Tracer from Overwatch.

Should you be one of the many players unsure of how to balance both your Street Fighter V and Overwatch addiction, now you can satisfy both at the same time.

There was also a simple Mod, a sort of “What if Cammy escaped Shadaloo” version of the character.

Bandai Namco Teases New Characters for Pokkén Tournament

The official Bandai Namco YouTube page uploaded a video officially advertising an update for Shadow Mewtwo, Braixen and Garchomp to Japanese Arcades. The announcement is innocuous enough–until they slip in an announcement that “New Battle Pokémon are Set to Join!”

The announcement comes hot on the heels of Reddit data miners discovering new files in 1.3 that reference three Pokémon not in the game: Empoleon, Darkrai, and Scizor. You can read more into the data itself here.

While the identity of the future Pokémon may be in the air, this video release certainly does nothing to remove the speculation caused by the data miners. Though this does make one wonder why no announcement surrounding this video made its way to the E3 floor.

Witness Superior Swordplay in this Ambient Project M Combo Video feat. Marth

Project M, the popular Super Smash Bros. Melee mod, has recently lost part of its share in Smash spotlight. Though attention has certainly shifted more toward the unmodded Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U scenes, that doesn’t mean Project M has been fully forgotten.

In a new combo video, long time Marth main Azurin decided to offer viewers a look at some of the stylish ways Project M’s Marth can go about stealing stocks from opponents.

B-Boys Cross Over into Street Fighter V with Red Bull BC One

Since Capcom joined forces with Red Bull, we’ve started to see the impact on the fighting game scene, such as the recently announced “Proving Grounds” tournaments in several North American cities.

We already knew that Street Fighter V producer Tomoyaki Ayano had begun collaboration with Red Bull BC One, who sponsor b-boy dance competitions around the world. Thanks to this collaboration, this year they’ll sponsor five hip hop dance workshops and exhibitions in South Africa, France, Italy, Ukraine, and Japan with a “twist of eSport.”

Their latest video to promote this set of events features four b-boy All-Stars: Hong 10, Menno, Lilou, and Neguin, who battle it out dance-style while cosplaying as Ken, F.A.N.G, M. Bison, and Rashid.

Check out the teaser below, and for the full video, which features two choreographed Street Fighter V “fights,” head over to the Red Bull BC One website.

Harada Talks Tekken 7 at E3: Story Mode and Other Port Details

Tekken 7 has been out for over a year in Japanese arcades, but there is a lot of information left to glean about the eventual port to home consoles. At E3, GameSpot sat down with Harada and asked several questions, like how legacy controllers will–or will not–be supported. Harada’s answer implied they are making their own drivers, and do desire to make as many controllers work with the game as they can, but with so many on the market, it’s difficult to guarantee global compatibility.

Harada also goes in-depth about sections of the game’s story. He claims that it’s “unlike anything we’ve done so far,” and also hints at some closure to the Mishima story arc. He also goes into why and how Street Fighter’s Akuma fits into the central story.

GameSpot Interviews Capcom at E3 Regarding the Future of Street Fighter V

There’s no questioning the fact that Street Fighter V has had a shaky launch. What might have signaled the end for many other games, instead, has only resulted in a rough start for the Capcom fighter. Fortunately, it seems like Capcom might finally be getting a chance to get back on their feet in the public eye. The folks at GameSpot recently spoke with Capcom’s Matt Dahlgren and Peter “Combofiend” Rosas on this, and other issues.

When asked about Ibuki’s delay, Dahlgren said that “the character just wasn’t ready” in time, before going on to say that the June update with Story Mode will finally provide players with “a complete full [Street Fighter V] offering.” When asked exactly how the company intends to change the negative stigma on the game, Capcom’s statements were vague, while acknowledging something needs to be done. “We have a lot of concepts we are discussing,” the interviewee stated, before going on to say that Street Fighter V developers “are going to have more of an open dialogue as to exactly what our fans want to see next.”

GameSpot, while questioning Capcom, expressed some tepidity about the story mode as it was presented at E3. The Capcom representatives explained that eventually “there’s a lot of fighting and less talking,” and, when addressing the lackluster AI, they said that players can replay the Story Mode on a higher difficulty once they’ve completed it normally.

Option Select Your Way Out Of Ken’s Hitstop Shenanigans in Street Fighter V

Dealing with setups in Street Fighter V with pure reactions can be frustrating. This is compounded when facing a character like Ken, who actually has lower impact freeze–hitstop, if you prefer–than the rest of the cast, making reaction punishing many of his normals on block considerably more difficult thanks to unique timing requirements.

PAN recently made a quick tutorial detailing a simple option select that can help shut down Ken players who abuse this aspect of the character. The process involves a late throw tech and delayed normal input to cover frame traps, throw mixups, and put pressure on Ken if he eases up. PAN previously made helpful tutorials on the unmoving shimmy, as well as several pressure tutorials for various characters.

For a detailed look at Ken’s hitstop frames and how they affect Street Fighter V play, be sure to check out our previous post regarding the issue.
