Version 1.06 is a big update for fans of Dead Or Alive 6. This update adds the final portion of DLC content contained in the game’s first Season Pass, guest characters Mai Shiranui (returning from Dead Or Alive 5: Last Round) and Kula Dimond from SNK’s King Of Fighters XIV.
The pair come packed with a set of maid, pirate, nurse, and bunny costumes based off of the themed costume bundles released for the other fighters within the Season Pass. Additionally, there have been some various quality-of-life improvements to the game, such as the addition of rematches to Lobbies, expanded text chat availability, as well as addressing some other pesky bugs.
Kasumi, Helena, Bass, Hayate, Leifang, Ayane, Eliot, La Mariposa, Brad, Hitomi, Mila, Bayman, Honoka, NiCO, and Phase-4 have also received some minor balance adjustments. Version 1.06a released a few days afterward, patching various aspects of the newly released characters and Hitomi. You can read the full patch notes for version 1.06 and 1.06a Team Ninja’s site.

Capcom-Unity revealed the latest batch of upcoming content set to arrive to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. Starting June 25th, players will be able to purchase the new Suzaku Castle At Night stage, which was recently announced at E3 2019. Returning from 1992’s Street Fighter II: Champion Edition, this classic nighttime backdrop is sure to bring back some great memories and feelings of nostalgia, especially for Ryu players. This brings the total number of stages in SFV up to 36, and as it’s a variant stage, it will only cost players $1.99 or 40,000 Fight Money.
There will also be several new Premium and Extra Battle Costumes coming to the title, as while Sagat’s Shade missions are in their second week, the love for Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness continues, as the series will have its third Crossover Costume, as players will be able to transform Menat into “the real queen of evil,” Princess Devilotte, compete with her orb becoming Super-8. The missions will begin at the conclusion of Sagat’s Shade campaign on July 5th, and will run into August 2nd. As with every Extra Battle Crossover Costume, players will need to defeat an increasingly-difficult CPU Devilotte Menat at least once a week for 2,5000 FM per attempt, in order to obtain one of four Gems needed to craft the costume, meaning she will set you back at least 10,000 FM to obtain. As with Jin Ryu and Shade Sagat, she will also have an additional Extra Battle for her Crossover BGM, that will cost 1,000 FM per attempt, but will last the entirety of her campaign.
Following Devilotte Menat, we’ll finally have the first Crossover Costume from the Onimusha series, as Ibuki will be gifted her second Crossover Costume, transforming her into Onimusha 2‘s Akane Yagyu, which will run from August 2nd-30th. Next up, a new Premium Costume will be available, as Laura Matsuda gets into the sprit of Summer with her Swimsuit Costume 2 for $3.99.
A variety of Costume Bundles also went on sale Tuesday, including the Capcom Costume Bundle 2 for $14.99, which includes the following outfits and all colors:
Karin – Ingrid
Rashid – Viewtiful Joe
Chun-Li – June Lin Milliam
Nash – Captain Commando
Guile – Nameless Super Soldier
Cammy – Fiona Belli
Cammy – Jill Valentine
Kolin – Ada Wong
Urien – Albert Wesker
There are also character-specific Costume Bundles for Karin (9 costumes, $14.99), R. Mika (8 Costumes, $14.99), Cammy (11 Costumes, $14.99), Laura (7 Costumes, $12.99), Ken (6 Costumes, $10.99), Nash (5 Costumes, $8.99), and Necalli (4 Costumes, $6.99.)
Finally, and perhaps most exciting, Dhalsim’s Classic Costume finally made its way to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition as the 8th Costume in Menat’s Fighting Chance, where lucky players will be able to exchange Fight Money and Fortune Tickets to hopefully receive the attire from the random assortment of items. Remember that you can gain one Fortune Ticket per week via Extra Battle, for the paltry fee of 250 FM. You can view photos of the upcoming outfits below.
Summer begins tomorrow, and Laura is ready to hit the beach in style! Her new Swimsuit Costume, including stunner shades and a breezy robe, will be available for purchase in #SFV starting on June 25th! pic.twitter.com/jhREL9uy6b
Making its debut in SF II: Champion Edition, Ryu’s Suzaku Castle at Night stage will be available starting June 25! After over a decade, the wait is finally over, and the time to finally embrace death has arrived, as SNK’s latest edition of Samurai Shodown is now available!
Featuring a launch cast of 16 characters, including series vets Haohmaru, Kyoshiro Senryo, Earthquake, Tam Tam, Hanzo Hatorri, Galford, Yagyu Jubei, Nakoruru, Ukyo Tachibana, Genjuro Kibagami, Shiki, Yoshitora, and Charlotte. Along with newcomers Darli Dagger, Yashamaru Kurama, and Wu-Ruixiang, the title serves as a reboot of the classic footsies-based, bloody, weapon-based 2D combat the series is known for.
On top of your standard Story, Versus, Online, Time Trial, Survival, and Gauntlet modes, the title also features the unique Dojo Mode, which allows players to battle against their own AI Ghosts that will mimic and learn from their patterns and habits, which they can then upload online to share with other players.
Additionally, a Season Pass has been announced, that will see Rimururu, Basara, Kazuki Kazama, and Wan-Fu join the roster between August and February, which can be obtained for free if players pick up the game before June 30th, so if you’re interested, act quickly. You can see the game’s launch trailer below, as well as its opening cinematic, which pays homage to the original title’s intro, below. The title will no doubt have some serious competition at Evo 2019.
Samurai Shodown is available now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with releases for Nintendo Switch, Steam PC and Google Stadia, set to come in the future.
Will you be #EmbracingDeath? Let us know in the Comments.
You have until June 30th to grab the Season Pass for free!
Just as the game finally launches on consoles, SNK has gone and revealed all of Samurai Shodown‘s DLC characters included in the season pass. As part of this, the company has also given out the schedule of when these characters will arrive.
SNK revealed the first DLC character for Samurai Shodown, Rimururu the week before E3 2019. She arrives in the game in August. Now, in a post on the PlayStation blog, they’ve revealed the rest of the characters in the season pass – Kubikiri Basara, Kazuki Kazama, and Wan-fu.
A vengeful spirit out to avenge his lover Kagaribi, Kubikiri Basara returns to in October. He uses a chain blade and tricky movement to try to zone out his opponents attacks. He’s also one of the squishiest characters in the game, being able to die in a single hit under specific circumstances in previous games.
Kazuki Kazama originally debuted with his brother Sogetsu in Samurai Shodown III. Seeing the former without his brother is an interesting decision by SNK as they usually appear together. He weilds fire and, in previous games, he could charge up a fireball that he could use with other special moves. Kazuki and his flames will heat players up in December.
Fans will remember Wan-fu for bringing different weapons in each of the series’ installments. For the new game, he brings a version of the massive stone pillar he first used in Samurai Shodown II. One of his most unique attacks involves him bashing his head against the pillar to charge up his POW meter. Wan-fu arrives long after the other characters in February of 2020.
In addition to these characters, there are hints that more may be coming to the game. In his message to fans, producer Yasuyuki Oda specifically referred to these characters as the game’s “first season.”
“For the first season, we wanted to extend our roster with different playstyles which can keep all players on their feet,” stated Oda. “Even though they’re still in development, we feel that each character has a very unique playstyle which fans new and old are sure to love.
We at SNK truly hope you enjoy the newest installment in the Samurai Shodown franchise.”
With this, it seems that SNK plans to keep supporting Samurai Shodown and its players for quite awhile. Even with the DLC characters, the game’s current roster still misses out on a few fan favorites. Perhaps SNK will add them in later season passes, similar to what they did with the King of Fighters XIV. Samurai Shodown is now out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the PC and Nintendo Switch versions to follow later in the Winter.
Yesterday the Version 1.06 update went live for Mortal Kombat 11. Another minor update the game that focused more on squashing bugs and adding some quality-of-life improvements to the title as opposed to introducing balance changes. This patch most notably added an Easy Krushing Blow option to Training Options, allowing players to bypass the traditional conditional requirements to make it easier to lab out your combos without having to tediously set them up, as you would have to in a real match. Additionally, we have difficulty adjustments and increased rewards for Towers of Time, fixes to The Krypt, new Brutalities are available to be discovered, and bug fixes have been applied to various characters.
Most notably though, aside from Easy Krushing Blows and Erron Black receiving a bullet counter for his rifle, would be that we finally have information on the mysterious Kombat League, which you’ve no doubt seen advertised when battling online. The opening Season, “The Season Of Blood,” will begin on Tuesday, May 18th, the same day Shang Tsung begins his early access period. This will then disable Ranked Sets for the duration of the Season, which have now been reduced to FT2 affairs from the previous FT3 Sets.
You can see the full patch notes below as they were posted from r/MortalKombat, as well as a video from Rooflemonger visually displaying some of the more significant changes. The update is out now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The next characters in the Fighters Pass have been revealed!
Earlier today, Nintendo held their E3 Direct presentation, which provided us with a number of announcements of upcoming titles for the Switch, including the next two characters set to join Persona 5‘s Joker in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Fighters Pass.
First up, it was revealed that The Hero from Dragon Quest 11 will be “drawing near” the Smash battlefield. If more classic Dragon Quest heroes are your style, it appears that The Heroes from Dragon Quest 4 and 8, along with Erdrick, will also be included as alternate costumes.
In addition to swordplay, The Hero wields a unique gauge, allowing him to spend MP to cast various spells, such as Snooze, Sizzle, Psych Up, and Oomph, this allows him to put enemies to sleep, reflect projectiles, among other yet-to-be-revealed abilities. Their Final Smash sees all of the Dragon Quest Heroes assemble for an epic slashing of blades.
The Hero will be available as part of the Fighters Pass in Summer 2019.
But things didn’t stop there, as the Direct closed with another cinematic trailer. Following some trolling form Duck Hunt in a parallel to King K. Rool’s trailer, it was revealed that Rare’s beloved Banjo-Kazooie will also be joining the fray. This marks the first time that a third-party character owned by a rival company–in this case Microsoft–has been playable in Smash.
Able to fire eggs and utilize a fast run where Kazooie carries Banjo on her back, the duo will likely be very tricky opponents. Their DLC stage is Gruntilda’s Lair, featuring appearances by the infamous witch, as well as the Jinjos during Banjo-Kazooie’s Final Smash. Banjo-Kazooie will be released in Fall 2019. You can see Banjo-Kazooie’s trailer below.

The Fighters Pass, which also contains Joker, and two other currently-unknown fighters, is available now for $24.99. What did you think of these Smashing E3 reveals? Will you be playing either of these characters upon release? Tell us in the comments!
Koei Tecmo released a trailer detailing Dead or Alive 6′s upcoming DLC characters from its The King of Fighters XIV collaboration and their accompanying debut costume sets.
First off, returning KOF fighter, Mai Shiranui returns to win the title of Japan’s best kunoichi. The character looks incredible in DOA6’s engine with her signature moves translating perfectly into the 3D arena.
The second character, who might surprise some if they weren’t keeping tabs on recent data mining, is none other than the “Ice Doll” herself, Kula Diamond. The character’s ice-based attacks look incredible in Dead or Alive, offering a new element not previously tapped into in the franchise.
The announced content finishes out what’s been announced for the title’s first season pass. While there’s no doubt that the season pass costs more than many were probably willing to pay for, $93 is quite the outlier in an industry of $20-$40 passes, you still do get quite a discount with everything broken down. Its certainly not for everyone, but the diehard DOA fan is sure to find the value with its host of costumes and the two upcoming characters.
I’m looking forward to seeing Mai and Kula in action and eager to see what’s next for the over-the-top 3D fighter. Hopefully its first season was successful and the feedback received from its players will influence where the game will go next.
Which characters would you want to join Dead or Alive 6 next?
On June 18th…your soul is his! Also, his Kombat Kast tomorrow at 3:00pm CDT!
After several weeks of anticipation, NetherRealm Studios finally revealed the contents of the Kombat Pack for Mortal Kombat 11, along with a gameplay trailer for the title’s first previously-announced DLC character: Shang Tsung. Despite appearing in his older form as the keeper of The Krypt located on his personal island, Shang opts to return to his younger form during kombat, to battle foes in his prime.
Armed with his signature straight and upward Flaming Skulls, as well as his trademark ability to steal his enemy’s soul, allowing the player to transform into the opposing character to immediately shift into a mirror match, the Sorcerer also has an interesting new ability on display.
During the trailer, we see Tsung transform into many of the Klassic male ninjas–some of whom currently aren’t in the game–to perform one of their signature attacks, such as Rain’s Super Kick, Ermac’s Telekinetic Slam, Reptile’s Slide, and Smoke’s Shake. He also transforms into Scorpion, Noob Saibot and Sub-Zero during his Fatal Blow.
Voiced by his actor in the 1995 film, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, the character certainly carries an appreciated level of nostalgia, with his victory pose recreating Shang’s most iconic moment from the film, and his fatality even featuring a cameo from another legacy MK boss.
Additionally, it was revealed that Nightwolf, Sindel, and Spawn will also be included in the Kombat Pack, with two more guests to be revealed later. It was also announced that a Klassic Arcade Ninja Skin Pack will be released, that sees Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Noob Saibot don some throwback duds from Mortal Kombat II, recreated in stunning detail.
These will be three of the 19 included Skins for the KP. For those looking forward to stealing some souls, early access for Shang and the Klassic Skins will begin on Tuesday, June 18th, for Kombat Pack, Premium, and Kollector’s Edition owners, before they go on-sale to the general public one week later.
You can see Shang’s full trailer below, as well as a press release from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment detailing more about the other announced fighters, which notes that Spawn will be voiced by Keith David, his VA from the HBO animated series. Anyone lucky enough to be attending E3 2019 can try out Shang at the WB Games Booth from June 11-13th.
Here’s a breakdown of each of the Kombat Pack’s announced characters coming from Warner Bros. Entertainment.
Spawn –
Todd McFarlane’s Spawn is one of the world’s best-selling and longest-running monthly comic books, with hundreds of millions of copies sold worldwide in more than 120 countries and 15 different languages. The Spawn comic book tells the story of Al Simmons, an elite government assassin who was betrayed and killed by the CIA. Instead of dying, he sells his soul to Hell for a second chance at life, and becomes Spawn, an unstoppable soldier fighting the underworld. Spawn is voiced by Keith David, the original voice actor from ‘Todd McFarlane’s Spawn,’ the Emmy award-winning HBO animated series.
Shang Tsung –
The soul-stealing sorcerer and historic host of the Mortal Kombat Tournament. Shang Tsung pledged his eternal loyalty to Shao Kahn in exchange for a dark power, but he is no faithful servant. He dreams of the day his sorcery will overtake Shao Kahn’s, and he’ll pay any price to get there. Actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is lending his voice and likeness to the popular character he portrayed in the classic 1995 Mortal Kombat film. Additionally, Shang Tsung will be available for consumers to play before release during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) from June 11 to 13 in the South Hall at the WB Games booth (#1023).
Nightwolf –
Formerly known as Grey Cloud, was chosen by the Great Spirit to become the Matoka’s champion and protector. Grey Cloud proved worthy when he laid down his life to prevent the Black Dragon from plundering what remained of his tribe’s sacred artifacts. As Nightwolf, Grey Cloud possesses extraordinary magic granted by the Great Spirit to fight for the Matoka’s future and defend all of Earthrealm.
Sindel –
The former Queen of Edenia and will stop at nothing to keep her place. Threatened with the loss of her throne when Shao Kahn conquered her realm, Sindel betrayed her husband, and her people, to keep her privileged position. Now, as Shao Kahn’s wife and Queen of Outworld, she enjoys power and wealth beyond most people’s imagination.
Don’t forget! Those who can’t wait to see Shang Tsung in action should check out tomorrow’s Kombat Kast to get the lowdown on the new fighter!
Last Tuesday the long wait ended for patient players of BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, as the game’s Version 1.5 update was finally released for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. This implemented the balance changes found in the recently-released Arcade version, along with DLC Character Pack Volume 7, which adds BlazBlue’s Naoto Kurogane, Persona 4 Arena‘s Teddie, Under Night In-Brith’s Seth, and Arcana Heart‘s Heart Aino, marking the fifth franchise to join this crossover tag fighter.
Those who own all of the previous DLC characters through the All-In-One Pack, individual purchases, or the Deluxe Edition, will receive the four new warriors free of charge after installing the patch, which weighs in at 671.7 MB on PS4, or you can purchase the Volume 7 Character Pack for $9.99.
The patch update also introduced a slew of balance and mechanical changes, including faster depletion of and the removal of Cross Combo and DP+Assist Invincibility, Reject Guard, Persona behavior, as well as adjustments for all 40 characters. Arc System Works has recently released the fully translated patch notes, which you can see at this link, along with character introduction trailers and initial breakdowns for Kurogane, Seth, Teddie, and Heart, below.
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is available now for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam PC. With the recent data mine, with the announcer speaking 75 additional character voices, there’s no knowing what’s next for the title.
Alright, so its already out in the wild, and yes, its true, the complete Ver. 1.5 voice announcer set is here, complete with names from series such as BBCF, P4AU, UNIST, RWBY, Senran Kagura, AH3:LMSS, and the oddone of the bunch, En-Eins Perfektwelt.https://t.co/C7BNu2HH9j
