Punish Axl Low for Daring to Use His Sparrowhawk Stance in Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-

Anyone who’s played against a good Axl Low in Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- knows how difficult the character can be when he’s in his Sparrowhawk stance. While there, he’s able to dish out damage from nearly a fullscreen away, which can be frustrating to deal with.

In his latest series of videos, ShinKensou goes over how most of the cast can actually punish Axl for daring to go into the Sparrowhawk stance. The first video covers punishment options for Chipp, who can go in after Axl uses a specific low attack, while the second tackles the rest of the cast minus Elphelt and Potemkin.

It’s important to note that all the punishes here, while not always optimal, allow players to Yellow Roman Cancel option select the normal, which will keep you safe should Axl delay his own attack.

Mortal Kombat X Receiving More Characters in 2016

While it may not be as revealing as we had hoped, we now know that a bunch of new content is heading to Mortal Kombat X next year.

A press release from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment mentions more characters and skins as well as a “new environment,” which leads us to believe that classic arena The Pit will be returning after numerous hints from NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon.

These details came bundled with a higher-quality version of the “Who’s Next?” teaser that arrived yesterday, which we’ve included with the full press release below. These characters are apparently still in development, which may have contributed to the lack of specifics in the announcement.

Fans can expect to see these Mortal Kombat X additions drop throughout the first half of 2016. This article will be updated should we learn more later today.

Celldweller Discusses the Creation of Rash’s Killer Instinct Theme

Apart from an additional helping of characters, one of the biggest changes coming to Killer Instinct in its third season is the fact composer Mick Gordon will no longer be contributing to the game’s character themes. In his place, Atlas Plug and Celldweller would be collaborating to fill in Mick’s shoes.

In this new episode of his Recording Cessions, Celldweller talks abit about working on Killer Instinct, specifically with regards to the its first guest character, Rash from Battletoads. Highlights include incorporating 8-bit sounds by way of an Elektron SidStation, which uses a Commodore 64 sound chip to create that great retro feel.

If you’re a Killer Instinct fan, a lover of music, or any combination of the two, this behind the scenes look at the creation of a character theme isn’t to be missed.

R. Mika’s V-Skill Buff Dishes Out Serious Damage in Street Fighter V

Ever since we learned how it works last week, more than a few people have been wondering what exactly happens if you let Rainbow Mika fully charge her V-Skill in Street Fighter V.

Fortunately, Khaos Gaming captured some great footage from their time at PAX Prime that demonstrates why, at least in the current build of the game, you should never, ever let R. Mika run her mouth to the fullest. Check out the video below to see for yourself and possibly even pick up some bodybuilding tips along the way.

Street Fighter V is still in development. As such, certain things, such as what we just saw here, may change before teh final release. That said, I’m pretty sure more than a few competitors are salivating at the chance to deal out that much damage, even if the situation is less than practical.

Players will be broken up into two groups of ten. To prevent repeated matchups, players using the same character will be separated into different groups. The remaining rules are the same as previous years: B League will be played online in best-of-five game matches. Players are ranked by win-loss record, or in the case of a tie, by game win-loss difference, followed by head-to-head matchup results.

First and second place in each group will be promoted to A League. Third place in each group will join BE|Nemo and MCZ|Tokido in a four-player offline playoff league for a shot at promotion. Each match there will be a best-of-thirteen game set, with deuce rules to ten wins. The top two players will be promoted to A League.

Prizes

With the increase in players comes an increase in prize money. The top three placers for each group will be awarded a cash prize.

Second Place of each Group 50,000 Yen

Third Place of each Group 30,000 Yen

One Niconico point is the equivalent of one Japanese yen. While the most practical payment method for foreign viewers is by credit card, be aware that some credit cards may not work.

A League Information

A League will begin shortly after the completion of B League. Six players are confirmed to return this year, with six players to be determined by B League’s results to fill out the league of twelve. The prize pool has been increased, with the champion taking home a clean 1,500,000 yen.

sako Leaves TOPANGA LEAGUE

Team HORI’s sako is a legend. Lauded as one of Japan’s five fighting game gods, he is known for his precise execution, extensive knowledge, and brilliant offense. After being demoted to B League after the third season, sako showed the world what he could do with Ultra Street Fighter IV newcomer Elena, effortlessly rising back into A League and finishing at a strong third place.

Unfortunately, sako won’t be making a return to TOPANGA LEAGUE this year. On Kachitagari TV, it was announced that sako would be exiting the competition. sako’s wife Akiki confirmed, stating that sako is currently “taking on new challenges.”

While normally three players are automatically promoted from B League to A League, sako’s departure opens an extra slot, meaning four players will advance.

Ed Boon Teases Future Mortal Kombat X Characters, Reveal Expected Tomorrow

During this week’s Kombat Kast, the folks at NetherRealm Studios hinted that they would be unveiling a big Mortal Kombat X announcement sometime this week, and it appears as if the short wait will be over come tomorrow.

A recent tweet from creative director Ed Boon teases a second collection of downloadable characters with four silhouettes and the series’ ubiquitous “Who’s Next?” tagline.

It’s hard to confirm the figures displayed in the image above with any certainty, but names like Smoke, Sindel, Baraka, Bo’ Rai Cho, and even the Alien franchise’s Xenomorph have been thrown about during the fanbase’s onslaught of speculation. Feel free to let us know what you think in the comments as we wait for the official reveal.
